Still no arrest in this hit-and-run investigation. It all happened right here outside of 257 Hudson Street Friday night at around 9:45 p.m. The street was dark. It was flooded. Unfortunately, no one got a good look at the heartless driver who hit Sade and kept on going. Eyewitness News video shows what the street looked like Friday night just minutes before Sade was run down by the driver who had broken through a police barricade, a driver who didn t even bother to stop to see if she was all right.
Terry Sheridan, 1010 Wins Reporter: "We couldn t believe what happened. "
A radio reporter was also covering the Hackensack flood, when he saw the car hit Sade so hard, she flew up in the air. The small crowd of 10 people standing outside rushed to help Sade, leaving the driver a few seconds to speed far enough away that no one could make out the car s license plate.
Sheridan: "Everyone ran you know to Sade, once she landed in the water, you wanted to make sure she was out and then she was out cold."
Sade suffered broken bones in the incident, and her recovery will take time, and but we are told she is expected to make a full recovery.
Hackensack Police are asking anyone who may have information about the case to call them at 201-646-7777.
We appreciate all the viewers who have expressed their concern for Sade. We will keep you updated.
