NEW PLAYGROUND EQUIPMENT - New playground equipment is being installed at Smyrna Park this week. On Monday, Galindo Martinez, an employee of Playgrounds Plus of Hollister, took advantage of clear skies to make progress on the huge assembly job. The foreman on the project said the Smyrna Park equipment should be ready for use at the end of next week. The city is systematically installing the equipment with new products manufactured by Miracle at eight city parks. The old equipment did not meet modern-day safety standards nor the handicapped accessible requirements. It was replaced by local Rotary clubs and will be shipped to poorer neighborhoods in Mexico.
