Binary Bonsai

Binary Bonsai started out as so many other personal blogs; that is, one person's ramblings flowing into the void, largely unheeded and unremarked by any but the people nearest me who also got blogging. Or perhaps that's not entirely true, after all I didn't really get blogging from the beginning. But I found it to be an entertaining way to pass time and it somehow helped me quantify my life.

To be honest, I'm not sure I 'get' blogging now either, but I seem to have caught on to something at least...

Being the gaming geeks that we are, the talk around the non-existing water cooler somehow always seems to boomerang back to gaming in the good-ol-days. And as these conversations go, the Amiga is often brought up, and along with it such classics as Flashback. Now if you have never played Flashback, that's okay, you can still enjoy the music; or at least pretend to enjoy so as to not be left out.

Yesterday the ticket sale opened for the concert that U2 will be playing this summer here in Copenhagen. And it was nothing less than a disaster on all fronts. Billetlugen, the site which was supposed to take care of the ticket sales, both on- and offline, broke utterly down.

Well here's one for the books. Yesterday I installed the latest WordPress nightly in a directory on this server. I haven't posted the URI anywhere online, and only Christoffer, who had a quick look at it has been given the URI (and I trust him, heh).

This morning, a poker spam comment... How the fuck?!

Tricksy little bastards!

Don't get your panties in a knot, this is just a very very small update. But I cleaned up the .psd file every so slightly (there was always some grit near the rounded corners) and removed the boat photo from the header section since noone used it anyway. After rezipping it's now down to just over 450KB for the entire Kubrick package, which is less than half the size it used to be.

Robert Scoble, the esteemed Microsoft Geek Blogger, whom we recently talked about, uses WordPress 1.5 for his linkblog, with Kubrick at the helm.

Brendan mentioned Binary Bonsai shortly on his podcast, Incoherent Ramblings, one of my now regular podcasts. I like to keep track of these things, so if you mention, or hear mentioned, the B on podcasts, let me know.

As far as I know, this is the second podcast mention I've had. The first being Michele.

As stated by both Chris and Khaled, I joined the Shuttle program yesterday, and we hope to poll our minds together and cook up a new backend for WordPress.

We've obviously got some ideas, but we'd also really like to hear what you guys have to say. So let us know what you think can be improved about the current WordPress backend.

Finding a music video on MTV or VH1 is like searching for extra terrestrial intelligence. A lot of false alarms and otherwise just heaps of background noise. It's all degenerated into 'come see how the celebrities live', 'come see how the celebrities eat', 'come see the celebrities!'. That, and of course 'top 100 sexy celebrities', 'top 100 sexy videos', 'top 100 scandals', 'top 100 ways of lowering your intelligence while watching TV'.

Too bad too, there are some really great music video's out there. Like Mark Romanek's 99 Problems (oh, and go check out the rest of his archive, he's done some amazing stuff!)
