Re-release rides movie’s coattails on PC Data charts
by Jason Ocampo

The Titanic effect has hit gaming. The billion-dollar box-office movie has left a ripple effect in its wake. The movie’s soundtrack reached the number one record position. A coffee table book on the movie, James Cameron’s Titanic, rules the New York Time’s non-fiction list. And bookstores everywhere are offering reprints of Titanic-related works, such as A Night To Remember.

In February’s PC Data list of top-selling games, Cyberflix’s Titanic: Adventure Out of Time debuted at the No. 7 slot. Originally released in 1996 by GTE Entertainment, Titanic: Adventure Out of Time didn’t make that much of a splash the first time out. However, it was re-released recently, and has managed to hitch a ride on the so-far unsinkable movie.

Apart from Titanic’s entry, the top 10 remained relatively stable this month. The list is shown below, with the game’s position on the previous month’s chart denoted in parenthesis. An asterisk denotes that the game is making a debut on this month’s chart.
