Reviews:
The arrangements are tight, the band is relaxed and swinging, and the music is well-rehearsed, yet still fresh.
- Jim Wilke (Jazz After Hours, Public Radio International)
Despite their far-flung origins, these enormously talented musicians complement one another like fingers on a glove, performing with sensitivity and assurance as a unit and adding a high degree of energy and imagination when soloing.
- Jack Bowers (Cadence Magazine)
Recorded at Studio Tempo in Montreal, Tribute bristles with uncompromising energy. Robert is an expressive alto saxophonist in the Phil Woods tradition. From the opening strains of Robert's self-pinned The Village it becomes evident we are in for a glorious ride on bassist Reggie Johnson and drummer Geeorge Ursan.
- The Jazz Report.
...if this is the kind of musicians they have kicking around in Canada, I think the U.S. needs to look into a cultural exchange program.
- A.R. Kettle (5/4 Magazine)
The soloing stays within the harmonies written, but it comes alive with surprising turns and delightful runs that make musical sense.
- Robert Tate (Jazz Now)
Getting exceptional marks for this date is Italian-born pianist Dado Moroni. This guy could hold his own with any of his counterparts on the keyboard. Moroni possesses dazzling technique coupled with an incredible mental library of harmonic possibilities...
- Jazz Report, Winter, 1994.
