Annie Award Noms Incredibly Good To 'Incredibles'
Pixar Animation Studio's computer-animated superhero comedy "The Incredibles" swept up 16 nominations in the race for 32nd annual Annie Awards Monday.Among "The Incredibles" nominations are nods for Best Animated Feature, Best Directing for Brad Bird and Best Voice Acting for Bird (as Edna Mode) and Samuel L. Jackson (Frozone).Taking on "The Incredibles" for Best Animated Featured are "Ghost in the Shell 2: Innocence," "Shrek 2" and "The SpongeBob SquarePants Movie."
"SpongeBob" is going for the big award on the television side as well. In the Best Animated Television Production race, it will take on "Foster's Home for Imaginary Friends," "My Life As A Teenage Robot," "Star Wars: The Clone Wars" and "The Batman.""The Lion King 1 1/2," "Mickey, Donald & Goofy "The Three Musketeers" and "Scooby-Doo and the Loch Ness Monster" got the nods for Best Home Entertainment Production.Presented by ASIFA-Hollywood and the International Animated Film Society, the Annies will be handed out Jan. 30.Pixar's "Finding Nemo" was the big winner at last's year's Annies, sweeping all nine categories it was nominated in, including Best Animated Feature and Best Voice Acting for Ellen DeGeneres, who played the forgetful fish Dory.
