Shire gets more time to consider power station submissionsChittering Shire, north of Perth, has been given extra time to sort through hundreds of public submissions on a planned chicken litter-fired power station at Muchea. The proposal has sparked the formation of a lobby group in the shire amid concerns over environmental and planning issues. Almost 900 submissions have been received on the town planning scheme amendment that is required before the project can go ahead. Fewer than 120 of the submissions support the power station. The shire has until mid-June to consider the submissions.
