President Museveni speaks more on aid

President Yoweri Museveni has said that the government of Uganda is open to discussion with development partners on issues of corruption and democracy but will not accept them to dictate the final decisions relating to the economic and political development of the country. President receives Ahmadiyya leader

President Yoweri Museveni has said the Movement government allows freedom of worship as well as to preach and convert followers to ones faith. The President made these remarks yesterday while receiving the Supreme Head of the World Wide Ahmadiyya Muslim Community, His Holiness Hazrat Mirza Masroor Ahmad who paid a courtesy call on him at State House, Nakasero. President Yoweri Museveni has reiterated that integration is the only everlasting solution to numerous challenges that have stagnated the development of Africa for centuries. The President was yesterday officiating at the closing ceremony of the Pan African Movement Consultative meeting on fast tracking the East African Federation at Imperial Botanical Beach Hotel in Entebbe. President Museveni donates vehicle to Toro Clan

President Yoweri Museveni has fulfilled a pledge of a vehicle to the Basiita Clan of Toro Kingdom. The Toyota Coaster Mini Bus valued at 44Million Uganda shillings was today handed over to the clan’s Co-ordinator, Mr. Steven Kaliba by the Principal Private Secretary to the President, Mrs. Amelia Kyambadde at Parliamentary Buildings in Kampala. President Museveni is the Patron of the Basiita Clan and is also a Regent to Omukama Oyo Nyimba Kabamba Iguru Rukidi IV. ..more

President stresses the need for elected Katikkiro

President Yoweri Museveni has said that the Katikkiro of Buganda under the regional tier arrangement must be democratically elected under universal adult suffrage. The President was meeting the Bataka of Buganda yesterday at State House, Nakasero in Kampala who were led by the Omutaka Francis Kisala Mbaziira. In their memorandum, they asked the President to leave the selection of the Katikkiro to the region adding that if this position is unpalatable they suggested that the Kabaka nominates three people from the elected members of the Regional Assembly and chooses from among them. ..more
