DBZ: Bukuu Tougeki
"Bandai says the follow-up to the popular GBA game is coming to Nintendo's dual-screen handheld later this year.  According to the latest issue of Shonen Jump, Bandai is currently making a sequel to Dragon Ball Z: Bukuu Tougeki (Dragon Ball Z: Supersonic Warriors). While Bukuu Tougeki was released on the Game Boy Advance, the sequel, titled Dragon Ball Z: Bukuu Ressen, will be hitting the DS. The game is in development for a fourth quarter 2005 ship date in Japan.

Dragon Ball Z: Bukuu Ressen is a 2D fighting game with a team battle system similar to Capcom vs. SNK 2's ratio system. Each character has a different "dragon power" assigned to him or her, which ranges from one to seven depending on strength. The player is free to organize a team of up to three characters within a designated number of total dragon powers. From the character select screen, it seems that the game will have a total of 16 characters, including Goku, Gohan, Super Sayan Goku, Piccolo, Cell, Android #20, and Android #18. Shonen Jump reports that some of the characters--such as Dende--will be dedicated to supporting the battling members, suggesting they won't be controllable fighters. Broli, Freeza and Majin-Buu are also seen in screenshots in the magazine, though it isn't known if they are player characters or just computer opponents.

Additional screenshots show that the DS's top screen will be used for combat. The bottom screen features pictures of three characters and will most likely be used for summoning them into battle or ordering them to execute unified attacks. The game also features a story mode similar to Dragon Ball Z: Supersonic Warriors, although the addition of branching plotlines has been implemented." - credit to lior fridman & Gamespot

Tenkaichi & Super Sonic Warriors 2 Scans
Time2killswitch, from secretsaiyan posted scans from 'Guttsu,' which includes Budokai Tenkaichi, and what appears to be Super Sonic Warriors 2.  Their claim states that it is Chou DBZ, but it is not possible for the arcade game to have such low resolution of graphics and the fact that there's a Nintendo DS there.  Our best guess is the first is a scan of Budokai Tenkaichi, and the second two scans are from DBZ Super Sonic Warrior 2.

New Tenkaichi Pictures
This is one of the best moments ever regarding the release of new images because 50+ new pictures were released today!  Unfortunately the resolution on these are not that high, however, the quantity of them should make up for the quality.  There are profile screenshots of Baby Vegeta, Bojack, Choutzu, Dodoria, Super 17, and Zarbon.  There are also regular screenshots of Baby Vegeta, Bojack, Guldo, Recoome, Piccolo, Perfect Cell, Jeice, Captain Ginyu, and Goku.

Bojack, Super 17, Baby Vegeta, Zarbon Pictures
~Mystic Saiyan~ was kind enough to make a factsheet for Budokai Tenkaichi.  Check out the Tenkaichi Factsheet!

Take a look on your right--these are not screenshots from the television show so take a guess what they are.  Correct, Bojack, Super 17, Baby Vegeta and Zarbon are in Budokai Tenkaichi, and if you already knew this, well great news, here's some picture evidence to put your 'maybe' to solid a 'yes.'  Credit for these pictures belong to the French website, JeuxFrance.com.  However, we posted the images on our forums so you do not have to click on all the slow thumbnails on the JeuxFrance server.

Chou Dragon Ball Z
Chou Dragon Ball Z, published by Banpresto, developed by Craft and Meister will be for arcade.  It is a fighting game and its release date is to be announced.  The graphics appear to be similar to the Budokai's except with a more cartoon feel.  Hopefully as we come closer to its release date, we will see more previews and screenshots from this video game.

New Characters
Budokai Tenkaichi consists of two divisions of storylines, one goes along with the television series and another is a dream version.  Thanks to SSJ4 Gogeta, here is a video from E3, probably a lot of you have seen it but I haven't since I had my finals, if you think you haven't, click here.
Bojack, Super 17, Baby Vegeta, and Ginyu Force are going to be in Budokai Tenkaichi!  Thanks for qwertz for posting it and Sewad for contacting me with this regard.  During the creation of Budokai 3, many fans and myself sent contacts to FUNimation, Atari, and the other makers of the Budokai series regarding to add these new characters, and whether or not that was why these new characters are going to be in Budokai Tenkaichi, the important thing is, they are, and I think many fans are extremely excited for the release of Budokai Tenkaichi.

Dragon Ball Z Game by Street Fighter's Producers
There's more great Dragon Ball Z news.  The producers of Street Fighters are going to make a Dragon Ball Z game with cel shading for the PSP.  Thanks to omar agosto for contacting me regarding this...here's the article from Gamespot about this new game:

"Noritaka Funamizu's Craft and Meister dev studio breathes new life into Dragon Ball Z franchise.

Since his retirement from Capcom in March, Noritaka Funamizu, the company's former executive director, has been relatively quiet. He established an independent game development studio, Craft and Meister, but said little about his business plans.

That silence was broken today in the current issue of Shonen Jump. The popular weekly revealed that Craft and Meister is currently working on an arcade Dragon Ball fighting game for Banpresto. The game will be titled Chou Dragon Ball Z (Super Dragon Ball Z).

A number of screenshots in the magazine reveal that Chou Dragon Ball Z plays with 3D graphics rendered in cel-shading, similar to past PlayStation 2 releases of the franchise.

Chou Dragon Ball Z will be Craft and Meister's debut title and is slated for release before the end of the year. Funamizu is best known as the producer of Capcom's Street Fighter II series. He founded Craft and Meister with ex-Capcom producer Katsuhiro Sudo. In addition to Chou Dragon Ball Z, Craft and Meister is also developing a single PSP title." - Gamespot

Super Sonic Warriors 2 Video ***
There's a new video from Dragon Ball Z Super Sonic Warriors 2 for Nintendo DS.  On the bottom screen is the selection choices between Goku, Vegeta, and Hercule--you can switch between characters with a single tap.  First it's Broly vs. Goku, then the user switched Goku for Vegeta, and then for Hercule for one attack and then back to Vegeta, then back to Goku.  We thank Neo_player for providing the link for this video.
There's been a lot of drama lately concerning the Dragon Ball Z community such as the previews of DBGT Transformation and this Tenkaichi.  Now there's even more, with previews on the never before seen new Super Sonic Warriors 2 and of Budokai Tenkaichi--these screen captures and images were taken at E3 and we even have a video of the gameplay of Tenkaichi from E3.  The video is an amazing video of Super Saiyan Vegeta fighting with Kid Buu and I have to say personally the graphics are top of the line as far as I've seen from any Dragon Ball Z game, so hopefully the gameplay will be just as great as the graphics.

Tmasta@dbzonps2 posted regarding an online feature that may be in Budokai Tenkaichi.  So will this game be one of the first DBZ on PS2 games to be online? or could this simply be a translation error, or an error by the article writer?  You decide.

"Friday 6 May 2005 | Publisher Atari has the third-persons action game Dragon Clench Z: Budokai Tenkaichi announced. This game combines fight and fly in large, open devastating bar 3D-omgevingen.

The fights play in the airy, on the ground and in the water. Furthermore the game melee combines Clench -fights with energy attacks and 3D-vluchten through a recreation of the Dragon Z universe. In the game have you the choice from sixty speelbare persons, that you on more than ten points can upgraden... Also Budokai Tenkaichi online is to be played. Dragon Clench Z: Budokai Tenkaichi appeared in November exclusive on the PlayStation 2. (GP)" - InsideGamer translated by FreeTranslations

There's even more good news--there's another Game Boy Advance Dragon Ball GT game and it seems like it is the second DBGT - Transformation but there's no solid evidence.  The name of the game is Dragon Ball GT -Transform 2, the release date is November 15th, this year.  So far the only information we have about this game is the name, release date, and that it's publisher is Atari, and it's a fighting game.  The item number is 256896 if you plan to order it.  Thanks to Lior Fridman for contacting us on behalf of this regard.

Also, the official website of the Japanese version "DBZ Sparking!" released screenshots, which are high quality versions of screenshots that were seen before in places such as magazine scans.  View High Quality Screenshots

IGN's competitor, Gamespot, also released an article similar to the one that was previously posted on IGN.  The pictures that they released are the same as IGN so that's that, however, they have a Developer's interview video so you might want to check that out.

"...We managed to check out a bout between Goku and Kid Buu, which took place in a rocky canyon stage. Graphically, the game is similar to Budokai 3 but with a bit more of a realistic look to it. The characters themselves are faithful to their television counterparts, but Spike has backed off the full cel-shading in Budokai 3, with the result that the character models are sharper around the edges and are more defined in appearance. In addition, character models will now be modified during fights as each character takes damage. For instance, Goku started the fight with a relatively clean uniform, but at the end of the fight (in which he barely managed to defeat Buu), he was noticeably bruised up, and his outfit had numerous tears and scrapes in it.

Another big change is in the appearance of the stages themselves. They're actually bigger than in Budokai 3 and incorporate new breakable objects. In the canyon stage we saw, there were a number of rock pillars scattered around the center of the area; these are fully breakable and result in extra damage--and some impressive explosions--when you happen to throw your opponent through them. In another interesting twist, some of these breakable objects will reportedly have power-ups hidden inside them, allowing you to grab extra health or energy during the course of a match..." - Gamespot Article

Budokai Tenkaichi Images & Videos

Many people have emailed and contacted me about the new releases from IGN so there's no way I can list all those fans, but thanks to everyone that helped!  I'd just want to highlight the main things that IGN had up, which was an article, screenshots, and videos.  Below is an excerpt from the article from IGN.  And to answer the question, Yes, Budokai Tenkaichi is DBZ Sparking in English.

Budokai Tenkaichi SCREENSHOTS:
     View the new screenshots now

Budokai Tenkaichi VIDEOS:
     Watch them now at IGN

"Rather than focus on a particular saga as the previous games did, for instance, Tenkaichi retells almost the entire DBZ story from scratch. Beginning with the arrival of Raditz in the Saiyan Saga and ending with the Goku's last journey in the Kid Buu episodes, Budokai should now hit every major plot point in the series' history. The only real question is just how much content from each saga will be in the game when it's finished (because Atari itself doesn't even know yet since Spike and Bandai are still finalizing the plotline at press time). I guess that means you'll just have to wait until later on to find out of Vegeta's first Super Saiyan transformation and subsequent humiliation of the androids make it in.

Speaking of Vegeta, you can expect to see him in the lineup along with more than 60 other combatants -- the most ever in any Dragon Ball Z game. In fact, just about every character you can think of has made the final cut for Tenkaichi with some of them being a little less traditional than expected. The entire Ginyu Force (yes, including Guldo), all the Androids, all the Saiyans, every bad guy, and plenty of other surprises (giant monkey anyone?) will join up returning favorites like Goku, Gohan, Piccolo, Trunks, Frieza, and Ginyu so that you can recreate all your favorite battles... Lupin - Island of Assassins Review

"Mo" in our website's comments posted a link to a product at gamestop.  It is "Dragon Ball Z: Budokai Tenkaichi" and will be released in November 15th, 2005.  Could this be another Dragon Ball Z game or could it be DBZ Sparking in English?  You be the judge of that.

They are making a Japanese Collector's Edition of Budokai 3, even though I think the original cover looks better, view Budokai 3 Collectors Edition Cover (source: amarsdbzn)  Also, for those fans who are wondering the release date for the Bio-Broly movie, the release date is August 16th, 2005 for Dragon Ball Z: Bio-Broly the movie.  Also, here's a high resolution screenshot from the game DBZ Sparking, view here.  Also thanks to MasterChief, we have a picture of the front and back cover of the DBZ Sparking game, so that's definitely something that fans would like to check out.  Warning: The boxart on the right was found out to be fake.

In addition to all that good stuff, we also wrote a review for Lupin the 3rd - Island of Assassins, which will be released in three days on April 26th.  We have the disc scan, cover scan, review, brief introduction, 43 "extras" screenshots, and 100 screenshots from the movie, totaling 140+ DVD Screenshots.  We've given this movie a 5/5 because of its superior storyline.  Honestly speaking, if there's one Lupin movie to get, I'd say this should be the one because it's storyline is really complex and has tons of surprises.

Confirmed Characters

More pictures have been released to the public.  These were posted by jjoseca, and there are four of them.  These scans confirm the existence of the following characters: Goku, Vegeta, Broly, Janemba, Adult Gohan, and Piccolo.  From the looks of it, it appears that this game might be split window, meaning there will be two screens when you play it--possibly one for each player.

Gamespot's Spark

Many fans emailed me with interesting news.  Sacrafice, KamiSama, Lior Fridman contacted me with the following information:

Websites:  Official News Site | Official Website

"New Dragon Ball Z game hitting Japan this fall.  Bandai says Sparking! is flying toward the PlayStation 2; publisher unclear whether game is bound for US gamers.  Tokyo-- Goku and the myriad inhabitants of the Dragon Ball Z universe will be returning to the PlayStation 2 this fall, says Bandai. The new game, Dragon Ball Z Sparking!, is a 3D fighting game that will feature more than 40 characters from the popular anime series. Developed by Spike, Dragon Ball Z Sparking! will cost 7,140 yen ($66). There is currently no word on whether Sparking! will make it to the US market. According to Bandai, Dragon Ball Z Sparking! will feature a 3D battle experience: Matches will take place in the air, on the ground, and everywhere in between. The game will play in a modified first-person perspective, with players viewing the action over their fighter's shoulder. So far, only three characters have been confirmed for the new game: Goku, his rival Vegeta, and Janenba, a character from the motion picture Dragon Ball Z: Fukkatsu no Fushion! Goku to Vegeta.

To date, Bandai has sold a total of 8.35 million Dragon Ball Z games for the PS2. The company says it hopes to hit the 10 million mark with the release of Sparking!" - Gamespot

Sparking's Spark

Prince Zarbon from our forums posted a cover for the upcoming Dragon Ball Z movie, Bio-Broly.  Many of the fans, however, commented that this is not as great as the previous Broly movies but as being a Dragon Ball Z fan, I insist that you pre-order it to watch and add to your collection.

Dragon Ball Z Sparking's Official Website was sent to me by a fan and by the looks of it, you can see 3 different artworks on there--Super Saiyan Goku, Super Saiyan Vegeta, and transformed Janemba.  Also, "Mmooloveme10" sent me several pictures related to the game so we thank him for that.  These include mini biographies of the three characters, Goku, Vegeta, and Janemba in Japanese.  It also contains a few more pictures created by the artworks and in a few of them is little hints of how the game itself is like.  In addition, we also have the artworks with a white background so you can use it for your website, forum, signature, or any other graphics.

"SSJ 3000" emailed us with a screenshot of what he says is DBGT Transformation--there is no abstract evidence, such as a website so it is not confirmed.  However, we provided the screenshot for those who are interested.  It is a screenshot of Goku SS4 doing a kamehameha wave--view hereWarning: This also has been reported by a fan as fake.

DBZ Sparkling compared with Budokai 3

Today, a member at Dranium forums posted a screenshot from the Japanese version of Budokai 3, in which they had Janemba.  This is a a good representation because from the artworks on the covers of the Dragon Ball Z Sparking scans look relatively similar to Budokai 3, but this is only an opinion, stated by many of the fans out there.  Also if you were wondering where the original source of the two scans, they came from jeuxfrance, as I've found out today.  This Janemba scan was found and posted by mike_94 of our forums.  I also posted the FUNimation release schedule for those who shop for these kind of stuff.  Warning: It's been found out that this is a fake artwork.

New PS2 Game: DBZ Sparking

Thanks to ssj7 Goku from our forums, he told us about this piece of news and it could be big news.  This will be another big Dragon Ball Z game for the PS2, and the name of it is Draogn Ball Z Sparking!  The scans were thanks to Prince Zarbon.

"According to the latest issue of the Japanese magazine Shonen Jump, Bandai Corporation has announced a brand new title in its always-popular Dragon Ball Z franchise. Known simply as Dragon Ball Z Sparking!, the new game is said to be more action-oriented with an emphasis on greater movement and freedom. Of course, there will still be hand-to-hand fighting combat in addition to more than 40 different selectable characters in all. It is said that the title should be also completed in time for a release in Japan later this year.

There's still no word from Atari regarding an American release of Dragon Ball Z Sparking, but considering the enormous success of the previous games on PS2 and Atari's exclusive publishing rights for the franchise, we expect that an official announcement is imminent." - IGN.com

New Movie: Bio Broly

The DBGT: Transformation cover has been released for a while but for those who haven't seen it, here it is.  It has Goku Super Saiyan 4, General Rildo, and Baby on the cover of it.  We also made a DBZ: Sagas wallpaper for those fans who enjoyed the game and would like it as their desktop wallpaper.
Bio-Broly - The Movie - Defeated but not destroyed, Broly has returned!  But the moster powerful Super Saiyan of all time has gained incredible new powers thanks to the sinister genius of an evil sorcerer, and the money of a wealthy, power hungry maniac!  you've never seen Broly like this!  So if you liked Second Coming, you'll probably like this movie as well.

Also, join Dranium Forums, you will get access to a LOT more highly professional wallpapers, free gmails, downloadable avatar packs for your forum, font-packs, cool graphics for your forums, and listen to our z-radio.

There is also more progress with Dragon Ball Adventures, the Half Life 2 mod.  They completed the model for Goku, and we have a face and full body image of him.  The map for the Roshi Island is complete and it looks magnificent.  Click here to check out all the cool model pictures so far.

Wallpaper & Models

A long time friend and supporter is back, visit Dragoon Network.  In the meanwhile, there is more improvement in the mod, Dragon Ball Adventures--the Gogeta and Dabura models are almost complete and just need skinning and hair for the Gogeta model.  Click on the following links to see the Dabura Model, Gogeta Model, Vegito Model

I was watching television and managed to take a pretty good screen capture of the DBZ Sagas Advertisement so check it out--this is not the game play thing but the actual ad.  Another big thing, well not that big, but Gamespot released their review and it got a 3.8 Rating (bad), so check out Gamespot for their review regarding this game.

Featured Wallpaper

This is perhaps the best wallpaper that we've released.  It features the heroes Goku, Gohan, Vegeta, Trunks and Piccolo and on the background and left is a vivid sensation of crimson, silver and gold.

Wallpaper & More Sagas Captures
I also made a Yu Yu Hakusho wallpaper for those who enjoy Yu Yu Hakusho.  It features Yusuke Yurameshi with a picture of him doing his Spirit Gun and on the right side is a large scale version of his upper self.  Hopefully, you will find this wallpaper deserving to be on your desktop.  Click to download an 800 by 600 version or a 1024 by 768 version.

We decided to give those loyal Dragon Ball Z fans something cool.  We spent a lot of time making this wallpaper as clean as possible.  It features a high quality image of Goku doing his spirit bomb with a uniquely made black and red background.  We have an 800 by 600 version and a 1024 by 768 version so it is more customizable.

Also, we added screenshots from the Introduction and Chapters 1 to Chapters 16 for the Dragon Ball Z: Sagas screen captures.  We have 650+ screenshots that we've captured from the videos that "Supra" sent us--thanks.  The video screen captures we have so far are the Introduction, Raditz, The Mighty Nappa, Saiyan Duel, Journey to Namek, Captain Ginyu, Goku isn't Goku, Tyranny of Frieza, Super Saiyan Goku, Goku on Yardrat, Future of Trunks, Last Hope, The Androids, Super Saiyan Vegeta, Piccolo's Fusion, and the Time Chamber.  We need 4 more to complete our whole gallery and they will be up shortly.
