Imperator No More (PC)
Mythic Entertainment has ceased production on one of its many MMO's, Imperator.
By Eduardo Vasconcellos | July 13, 2005

Mythic Entertainment announced today that it will be postponing production of the sci-fi MMO Imperator in order to focus on other properties.

After an internal review of the status of the game, the company has decided that it would be a better choice to focus on its Dark Age of Camelot and Warhammer titles.

"This was the most difficult decision that we have ever had to make," said Mark Jacobs, CEO and president of Mythic Entertainment. "However, our tremendous success with Dark Age of Camelot set the standard for Mythic of releasing nothing less than triple-A games, and Imperator was simply not meeting that standard."

No layoffs have occurred due to the productions cease. Employees will be merged into teams currently working on the Dark Age of Camelot franchise as well as a new Warhammer MMO.

Mythic will be releasing an expansion to DAoC, called Darkness Rising late this year, with the Warhammer MMO slated with a release in 2007.
