Individual Workouts
Private team workouts
It's not enough to tell you about all the on-campus Pro Days. NFL.com is now giving fans the opportunity to find out which teams are conducting private workouts for some of their favorite players.
  • Miami CB Antrel Rolle is on a roll. After meeting with the Dolphins -- including head coach Nick Saban and GM Rick Spielman -- and dining at a swanky Miami country club on April 6, he visited Houston on April 7.
  • Tennessee LB Kevin Burnett missed the Vols' Pro Day with an illness and worked out on April 6.
  • UCLA WR Craig Bragg and Hawaii CB Abraham Elimimian worked out at a high school in Westlake, Calif., on April 6.
  • USC DT Mike Patterson is climbing up draft boards and making plenty of visits, including Detroit and Carolina starting April 13.
  • They are going to be stretched, measured, timed, scouted and put on display for every team in the league. The NFL has come calling for the top collegiate talent, and the next few weeks are going to showcase the best and brightest. All results compiled by NFL.com draft guru Gil Brandt will be shared below, as well as news, notes and possible draft surprises.

In 2004, we brought you the results of 125 Pro Days. Already we have smahed the 150-school mark, and we are still compiling the data for you. And the Pro Days aren't finished, which means our final number will set a new precedent.

Many players have already improved their standing with productive Pro Days, and more will rise as these workouts hit the home stretch.

    TOLEDO: MARCH 29
Twelve players worked out. They ran their 40s outdoors on a fast rubber track and their shuttles on their FieldTurf game field. They did their vertical jumps on something called a jump pad, which probably partly explains why some of the jumps seem so impressive.

    NEVADA-LAS VEGAS: MARCH 28
The players ran outdoors on a fast track, which was described as a 45-yard carpet. Players would start on the surface, then finish their run and end up running on a cement floor. Not exactly ideal conditions. They did position drills on FieldTurf. On hand, 22 teams were present, including linebacker coaches from the Ravens and Texans, along with defensive coordinator Ted Cotrell from Minnesota.
    Player Position Gil's comments
Jamaal Brimmer S Brimmer (6-1 3/8, 216) ran his 40s in 4.69 and 4.73. He had a 34½-inch vertical jump, and the rest he stood on from the combine.

    HAWAII: MARCH 24
The workout took place at the Home Depot Center in Los Angeles. Not only do Hawaii players show up, but so do other prospects who are looking to work out again. That's why Craig Bragg from UCLA and Julius Roberts from Boise State were also showing their stuff.

However, because it was a cold and rainy day in Los Angeles, the Tartan Turf was slick and none of the times taken can be considered accurate. Hopefully this workout will be rescheduled so these young men can give a good workout.

Here are the combine numbers for Hawaii's top prospects:
    Player Position Gil's comments
    Timmy Chang QB Chang (6-1, 208) ran his 40s in 5.08 and 5.09. He had a 29-inch vertical, a 9-foot-3 long jump, a 4.20 short shuttle and a 7.24 cone drill.

He had a 39-inch vertical jump, a 10-foot-5 broad jump and 19 bench presses. Douglas was sort of an unknown because he played fullback last season and opened up a lot of holes for a junior, DeAngelo Williams, who will make several preseason All-America teams this summer. Needless to say, Douglas was a surprise. Philadelphia will give him a private workout March 31.

Close to 25 teams were represented at Nebraska. Chiefs player guru Lynn Stiles was there, along with 14 different defensive backs coaches including the Cowboys' Todd Bowles. Nebraska has several good DBs entering the draft, so this was definitely a secondary hot spot.

CB Washington wowed scouts at the combine by running for times of 4.29 and 4.31 in the 40, and had a 41½-inch vertical jump. That's very good. We will put up his workout results in the near future.
    Willie Amos CB Amos opened some eyes. He was 6-0, 186, ran a 4.37 and 4.37 in the 40, had a 41-inch vertical, a 9-foot long jump, a 4.14 short shuttle and a 6.87 three-cone drill.

    OKLAHOMA: MARCH 9
Well, this turned out to be quite a spectacle as 15 players worked out for 75 NFL player personnel people. In addition, NFL Network was on hand covering the Pro Day. So I guess you could say this was a popular place to be.

All of the players did positional drills, but several of them stood on their times from the combine (you can do that when you work out and do well in Indianapolis -- another benefit to working out at the combine). The players ran inside the old Oklahoma fieldhouse, then did positional drills in OU's new fieldhouse.

Vince had a great career with the Sooners and was bothered by a medical problem in his right knee. I doubt these times are indicative of what he could run when healthy.
