A story in yesterday’s editions on Oliver Stone’s movie about the Sept. 11 terrorist attacks incorrectly referred to John McLoughlin of Goshen and Will Jimeno as New York City firefighters. They are Port Authority police officers.

A reporter’s byline was omitted from a story in yesterday’s editions about Rocco Bellantoni Jr. opening a shoe repair business in the Town of Wallkill. Reporter Steve Israel wrote the story.

Epiphany is Jan. 6. The date was incorrect in Sunday’s GO Home.

The play “The Exonerated” had the wrong dates listed in Sunday’s “Stage and Screen” calendar. The correct dates are 7:30 p.m. Nov. 5 and Nov. 19 and 3 p.m. Nov. 6 and Nov. 20.

The recipe in GO Home for Sunset Orchard apple bundt cake was missing an ingredient. It calls for 1½ teaspoons baking soda, which should be sifted with the dry ingredients.

Richard Coombe Jr. is a councilman in the Town of Neversink. His name was incorrect in Saturday’s edition.

A story about diversity in the City of Middletown Common Council elections in yesterday’s editions should have stated that the city had a black alderman in the past. Muler Goerges, a Haitian-American, represented the 3rd Ward on the Common Council in the mid-1990s. While no Latino has ever served on the Common Council, Alderman Miguel Rodrigues, D-3rd Ward, is Portuguese-American and has the endorsement of the Orange County Latino Democrats.

Fred Harding filed a lawsuit in the days leading up to his firing as president of Hornet Group Inc. This information was incorrect in an article in yesterday’s editions about a new nursing facility in Port Jervis .

A group of Mohawks who oppose a land claim for casino deal are not members of Sullivan County Democracy for America. This information was incorrect in a photo caption in the Oct. 21 editions.

A story in yesterday’s Hudson editions had an incorrect name of the town where Chris Byrnes and Inga Quaintance are running for town supervisor. They are running for office in the Town of Highlands.

The City of Kingston had 833 crimes in 2005 compared with 695 in 2004, a 19.9 percent increase. This information was incorrect in a chart in yesterday’s editions.

Housing funds through the state Affordable Housing Corp. and the state Housing Trust Fund Corp./HOME are open to all residents in Deerpark and Port Jervis who qualify by income. For more information, call 845-744-2095. That information was incorrect in a brief in yesterday’s editions.

Monticello district Superintendent Eileen Casey is retiring on Oct. 18, 2006. The date of her retirement was incorrect in Thursday’s editions.

The Orange County Bar Association rated Suffern Village Justice Matthew Byrne, acting Ardsley Village Justice Lewis Lubell and Goshen lawyer William Conroy “qualified” for seats on the state Supreme Court. This information was incorrect in Tuesday’s editions.

Locations of funeral services for two Pine Bush High School students killed in a car crash were incorrect in Tuesday’s editions. Services for Tara Orozco, 16, will be at 10 a.m. today at Church of the Infant Saviour in Pine Bush. Services for Phillip Kessler, 17, will be at 10 a.m. today at the Circleville Church in Circleville.

An Oct. 4 story on 8 Hats High, an animation and production company in Middletown, mischaracterized the nature of the company’s work on two projects. The company did digital ink and paint/compositing for “Divertor,” an animated segment featured on “Saturday Night Live” in spring of 2005. On the “Stroker and Hoop” show for Cartoon Network, which was created by Chris Kelly and Jeff Olsen, 8 Hats High did storyboard revisions.

Kendra Harris scored the goal for the Roscoe girls’ soccer team against Chapel Field on Tuesday. This information was incorrect in yesterday’s paper.

Zac Menendez scored the goal for the Chapel Field boys’ soccer team against James I. O’Neill on Monday. The information was incorrect in Tuesday’s paper.

The Washingtonville boys’ soccer team record was 9-1, 3-1 in the Orange County Interscholastic Athletic League, following its victory Tuesday. The record was incorrect in yesterday’s editions.

A story in yesterday’s editions had incorrect information about the college where former Fallsburg schools Superintendent Walter Milton Jr. earned his master’s degree. Milton earned his master’s degree from SUNY Brockport.

The running column in yesterday’s editions had the incorrect date for the New York City Marathon. The marathon will be Nov. 6.

A headline in Saturday’s editions on a story on the Ulster County Legislature races had incorrect information. Billiam Van Roestenberg, a Democratic candidate for Legislature in Plattekill’s 9th District, criticized New Paltz Mayor Jason West for running Green Party candidates for Legislature. Also, Susan Zimet, the incumbent Democratic legislator in New Paltz’s 10th District, said West mischaracterized her objection to the Green Party running legislative candidates. Zimet said that while she’s disappointed that the Green Party is engaging in party-building instead of focusing on issues, anyone is entitled to run for political office.

Jackie Roebuck was Valley Central’s goalkeeper in its 2-1 loss to Middletown on Friday. She was misidentified in Saturday’s editions.

A story about the race for Orange County’s 21st Legislative District in Monday’s Times Herald-Record incorrectly stated Goshen’s townwide property tax rates in 2002 and 2005. The townwide tax rate has increased from $2.88 per $1,000 of assessed property value in 2002 to $3.68 per assessed $1,000 property value in the current year.

A story in yesterday’s editions incorrectly reported Jeanine Pirro’s job status. Pirro is currently serving as Westchester County district attorney as she seeks the Republican nomination for U.S. Senate.

Rebecca Ortiz does not believe that the Monticello School Board should have met promptly regarding violence in the school during the week of Sept. 19. A remark was incorrectly attributed to her in Thursday’s editions.

To ensure hygiene, the Orange Regional Medical Center can accept only donations of new toys for its young patients. An article in Friday’s Record incorrectly implied the hospital could accept used toys.

A story in yesterday’s editions had incorrect information from the U.S. Small Business Administration about local recipients for Sept. 11 recovery loans. Ideal Snacks in Liberty did not receive a $1 million loan in 2003 from the SBA’s Sept. 11 recovery program.

Joseph Matta was struck by a pickup truck while riding a bicycle Sunday morning in Goshen. The driver of the pickup told police that Matta failed to yield at a stop sign, according to Goshen town police. Police have not issued any tickets in the crash. This information was unclear in a news brief that appeared yesterday.

A story in Friday’s editions on David Appel, a candidate for Thompson supervisor, incorrectly reported his views on casino gambling. Appel is a supporter of casinos for Sullivan County, but respects the opinions of others with different views.

The name of Michelle Renee Bratton, a former cheerleader at Pine Bush High School who was killed in the World Trade Center attacks on Sept. 11, 2001, was omitted from the list of local victims that appeared in the Sunday Record.

Orange County Legislator Melissa Bonacic, R-Greenville, will hold a fundraiser at 6 p.m. Thursday at The Gardens on Catlin Creek on Route 6 in Wawayanda. This information was incorrect in yesterday’s Monday’s editions.

Goshen School District received a $9,100 federal grant to install security video cameras at its school parking lot and high school entranceways. A brief in Saturday’s editions incorrectly reported the dollar figure.

Joe Ranni and Phil Schnabel are vying for the Conservative Party seat in the upcoming primary for Chester. An article Saturday incorrectly stated they would run for the GOP position. The article also failed to mention that Ranni has endorsements from other parties as well, thus allowing him to run in November even if he loses the Conservative candidacy to Schnabel.

A story in yesterday’s editions had incorrect information about the background of James Mattatall, a candidate for Town of Wallkill supervisor. Mattatall is a retired correction captain.

A motorcycle driven by Jacqueline Deese of Walden was struck by a truck on Route 209 in Ellenville Tuesday. The motorcycle did not hit the truck. This information was incorrect in Wednesday’s editions.

Debbie Jones is coordinating the upcoming flea market, craft fair and car show fundraiser for the David Curtis heart-and-lung transplant fund. She was misidentified in yesterday’s editions.

Matthew Walker, not Aaron Walker, started for the Hudson Valley Renegades on Wednesday. This information was incorrect in Thursday’s editions.
œ An item in yesterday’s editions about a convenience store clerk charged with criminal possession of a weapon named the wrong store. The incident happened at the Hudson Valley Market on Broadway in Newburgh.

In the recent Back to School section, incorrect titles were given for several Monroe-Woodbury School District administrators: Carole E. O’Neill is assistant superintendent for curriculum and instruction; Joseph J. Fraioli is assistant superintendent for human resources; James Congelli is director of instructional support programs; and Edward Wallace is director of education support services.
ϯIncorrect hours were listed for the Middletown School District in the Back to School section. The correct hours are: Middletown High School start time 7:50 a.m., dismissal 2:20 p.m.; Twin Towers Middle School start time 7:47 a.m., dismissal 2:20 p.m.; Monhagen Middle School start time 7:45 a.m., dismissal 2:15 p.m.; Mechanicstown School start time 8:30 a.m., dismissal 3 p.m.; Chorley School start time 8:30 a.m., dismissal 3 p.m.; Maple Hill School start time 9:10 a.m., dismissal 3:40 p.m.; and Truman School start time 9:10 a.m., dismissal 3:40 p.m. The prekindergarten morning session is 8:45-11:15 a.m.; the afternoon session is 12:45-3:15 p.m.

In last Friday’s editions, Tom Peters was quoted as saying, “It seems hard to believe in May that my wife and two kids will go to a game until 10:30 p.m. and then try to make the 7 a.m. school bus the next day.” Peters said he was repeating what somebody told him. He has no children.

Art on display at the Moon Doze Cafe in the Village of Goshen was painted by the cafe owner’s late grandmother. A story in Sunday’s Record mis-identified the artist.

The fax number for Jo-Anne Dobbins, assistant director of special education, is 457-4254. The school board meets at 7 p.m. the second and fourth Monday of the month, with rare exceptions, in the administration building. This information was listed incorrectly in the Record’s Back To School pullout.

A story in yesterday’s editions about the death of a worker at Revere Smelting and Refining Corp. had incorrect information about the temperature of the molten lead in the smelting kettle. The lead was at an estimated temperature of 900 to 1,000 degrees Fahrenheit.

The Harvest Festival at Bethel
Woods is a free event. There is a $5 entrance fee for the wine-tasting tent this Sunday. This information was incorrect in yesterday’s arts briefs column.

There were several mistakes in yesterday’s Back to School pullout section. The starting dates for the Port Jervis and Newburgh school districts are Sept. 1 for staff and Sept. 6 for students. Classes in the Monticello school district begin on Sept. 6. These dates were incorrect in the section. Also, the principal of Fostertown School is Jose Carrion. He was misidentified in the section.

A story in Tuesday’s editions about the sentencing of Edward Nash said that Judge Stewart Rosenwasser gave Nash the maximum sentence of 22 years to life in prison in the murder of his wife, Zhao Hang. That sentence was the maximum under the plea arrangement reached between Nash and prosecutors ahead of Nash’s confession.

A man arrested on weapons and felony assault charges in connection with a shooting at Greenway Terrace in the Town of Wallkill gave an incorrect home address to police. Howard C. Libron, 33, does not live at 63-40 South St. in Middletown, as was reported in Sunday’s editions.

Fred Harding claimed in court papers that Key Bank would call in $4 million in loans if the Hornet Group improperly chose a new board of directors. A story in Sunday’s editions incorrectly attributed this claim to Jay Benson, the company’s founder.

Michele Pedreira appeared as “Huddles the Clown” at the XP carnival in Campbell Hall on July 14. “Strawberry the Clown,” Patrice Ciaccone, did not perform at the carnival. This information was incorrect in Saturday’s editions.

Only two businesses have complained about the presence of the Road House Cafe in the Town of Wallkill. Also, a town proposal to restrict vendor businesses stemmed from a review of vendor sales in the parking lots of nearby retail stores, not because of complaints about the Road House Cafe. These issues were unclear in a story Monday about roadside vendors.

Lou Allen of Milford, Pa., as saying that the explosion that killed her husband occurred while he was in the room of Capt. Phillip T. Esposito of Suffern. The families of the soldiers also want to hold separate funerals, not joint ones, for their husbands.

In a story yesterday about security at the Indian Point nuclear power plant, the twin domed buildings visible from the Hudson River were misidentified. They are containment buildings.

The law that Gov. George Pataki signed Monday on adjusted assessments applied to all property owners who suffered flood damage in April in counties that opted in by Tuesday. Pataki’s proposed amendment applies to the same group of people but would extend the deadline for counties to opt in to July 1. This information was incorrect in a story in yesterday’s editions.

The name of Orange County Family Court judge candidate Christine Krahulik was incorrect in the Talk on the Street column in Monday’s editions.

The Village of Highland Falls’ water system is not contaminated with MTBE, a gasoline additive.

John Cavanaugh, an employee of Combined Energy Services who was charged with robbery, was pumping gas at the CES station on East Broadway in Monticello when he is alleged to have taken money. Police provided incorrect information about the nature of Cavanaugh’s job.

A Career Information Night will be offered from 7 to 8:30 tonight at Middletown High School. An incorrect location for the event was published in some editions of Wednesday’s Record.

An article in Sunday’s editions incorrectly identified the Middletown Church of Christ as the “Middletown chapter of the Churches of Christ.” Each congregation of the nationwide church is autonomous. The article also referred incorrectly to the “Nashville headquarters” of the church. It should have said the nonprofit Disaster Relief Organization, which is run by members of the Churches of Christ, is in Nashville, Tenn.

A story in the April 5 editions omitted the e-mail address for a group working to change the child sex predator law in New York state. The e-mail address is newyorkjoan@hotmail.com.

The Cornwall School District has no proposed tax levy for its 2005-2006 school budget as of yet. A story in yesterday’s editions incorrectly said the budget under discussion calls for projected tax increase of nearly 14 percent. That is the increase in appropriations when compared with the current budget, according to school officials.

The name of a suspect arrested after an attack at the Nowhere Bar in Monticello was incorrect in yesterday’s editions. Kelvin O. Thomas, 26, of Monticello, was charged with second-degree assault.

John Joseph Affronti was no charged with offenses related to possession of crack cocaine as was reported in the Sept. 26 Sunday Record. Affronti was charged with one count of possession of marijuana, a violation. A 3/29 story incorrectly stated that Goshen civil rights lawyer Michael Sussman had argued before in U.S. Supreme Court that the ultra-Orthodox Jewish community of Kiryas Joel is a theocracy. Sussman tried to make that point four years ago in a federal lawsuit over polling place changes. The case made it as high as the 2nd Circuit Court of Appeals., but not the Supreme Court. The Board of Regents voted Wednesday to accept state Education Commissioner Richard Mills’ recommenda-tion to allow local school districts to delay raising the passing grade on Regents test from 55 to 65 for the next five senior classes. The story incorrectly said that the Regents had yet to take action on the change. Also, a chart with the story had an incorrect percentage for students in suburban schools scoring 65 and above on the English Regents test in 2002. A total of 82.5 percent of suburban students scored 65 and above on the English Regents. Full story.
