married: Captain Janet Kelly (who became an officer from Danforth Ontario Canada in 1927) in 1932; (promoted to Glory in 1993) author of: Earth’s Common Clay, Bridging the Year and Watching Daily.

Became an officer from Guelph Corps, Ontario, Canada in 1927. Served as corps officer and in editorial work in Canada; Chaplain with Canadian forces overseas (1940 - 1943); Senior Representative Canadian Red Shield Services Overseas (1943 - 1945); in Canada, as Divisional Commander (1945 - 1954), Field Secretary (1954 - 1957) and Chief Secretary (1957 - 1960); East Africa as Territorial Commander (1960 - 1962); Training Principal, International Training College (1962 - 1967); Canada and Bermuda as Territorial Commander (1967 - 1974). Order of Canada (1976); Hon LLD; Hon DD (Yonsei).

Author of: A Burning in My Bones (1980), The Desert Road to Glory (1980).
