Population 31,000 (1987). 
Region Central Province, Kondoa District, southeast of the Rangi, Goima, Chambalo, and Mirambu villages.

Comments Closely related to Wasi, Gorowa, Iraqw. They also speak Swahili and Rangi as second languages. SOV; prepositions; genitives, articles, adjectives, numerals, relatives after noun heads; 5 suffixes; word order distinguishes subjects, objects, indirect objects, given and new information (SOV already introduced object, SVO newly introduced object), topic and comment; preverbal clitics indicate case of noun phrase; verbal suffixes mark person, number, gender of subject; preverbal clitics mark person of subject; preverbal clitics mark person, number, and gender of non-subject noun phrase; this agreement is obligatory; mediopassive is marked by verbal derivational suffix; subject indefinite is marked by preverbal clitic; causatives; CV, CVV, CVC (restriction on second C)CV; tonal. Arid, deciduous bush. 4,000 feet. Traditional religion, Muslim, Christian.
