Comments Diminishing contact with Éwé. The language is called 'Sele'; the people 'Bale'. Outsiders call them 'Santrokofi.' Literacy rate in first language: Below 1%. Literacy rate in second language: 5% to 15%. Community sponsored vernacular literacy materials are available. Traditional religion, Christian.
