MEAN 18

Last update 30th June 2003

Welcome to the Mean18 site. This site is aimed at preserving game files, courses and utilities for Mean18, and includes the Y2K bug fix (see the utilities section). I should like to hear from anyone who has files or utilities to share, or who has any comments or suggestions. Please write to me at
stephen@merton33.freeserve.co.uk Alternatively if you are aware of any copyright material here tell me so that it can be removed.

Please let me know if you want to be put on the mailing list for the next amendment to the site.

Latest changes

Another new course, BETHPAGE BLACK from Steve Schultz. Total number of courses on the site is now 396.

I have amended another course, MUNK'S REVENGE, mainly to reduce the pars on some holes. Apologies to the original designer if he is reading this, but the original with the higher pars is also uploaded.

Website contents:

COURSES

 A - B   C - G   H - L   M - P   Q - S   T - Z   COURSE LIST

Courses for downloading and a complete list of the ones I have.

I have noted that some of the files have become corrupted over the years, and others have strange features. There are some which I have edited, and to these I have added a short text file explaining what I have done. I have also renamed a couple of courses or files to avoid having two with the same name, left the the file date and time the same.

 AUTHORS

List of courses where the author is known. Additions welcomed.

 OLD COURSES

The original versions of the course files that I have amended.

 PROGRAMS

The Mean18 programs, the course architect, and notes on the various fixes.

 UTILITIES

Various programs and a review of the game dating from the mid eighties.

 LINKS

Other sites that feature Mean18, possible other sources for getting course files and useful sources for freeware and shareware.

13th August 2000

Thanks to Jim Hill for identifying the area of the program that restricts the year to the range 86 to 99 when making an entry to the Hall of Fame. I have provided Y2K bug free versions of the programs, together with notes for anyone who has versions of the programs that I have not listed.
