A Warm Welcome to Chocolate
In Mid-November 2005, Marcel Cameron and Maria Voukelatos became the proud new parents of Chocolate, a Jack Russel cross Fox Terrier puppy dog. Due to other family committments of Virgils Diary technical staff (see article) this article is long overdue but Virgils Diary has finally published this article and gallery of photos provided by Marcel and Maria some months ago.
"For as long as I can remember, Marcal has always wanted a dog." John Cameron said today. Growing up in a family with a Swiss father (to whom dog poos are as repulsive as people who throw rubbish on the road to Joslyn's drive), Marcel had to wait until he was an adult to really consider having a dog of his own. Even so, he was a very good friend of the famous Tigger of Ball Hall until he passed away in the early 1990s. Since then, whenever I have been with Marce he has shown a keen interest in anything doggy, and talked of his plans to have a dog, one day.
"One week after Clancy was born, Marcel and Maria rung very excitedly to tell us that they had got a puppy, and had called her Chocolate" recalled Yukima Cameron today. She was the smallest puppy in recently born litter, advertised for sale in a local Sydney newspaper. After numerous visits to the pound looking for an appropriate pet (small enough to fit into Effie's flat), they were very happy to have found her.
Virgils Diary staff and the wider Cameron Community warmly welcome Chocloate to the family and wish her many happy years in her new home.

1:49PM 27-Feb-06: Maria: Chocolate sleeps in bed with us at night. Her No.1 favourite position is curling up on marce's pillow, around marce's head, to keep warm at night (also probably cos she doesnt see marce much during the day). Her No 2 fave position is lying between us on her back, with her little head on the pillow - just like a little human! Marce often gets jealous because chockers and i have 'special time' without him during the day. We have kissing and cuddling competitions. She either lies in my arms on her back, or lies in bed with me, on the pillow, nose to nose. We then have a friendly little competition to see which one of us can give the most kisses as she falls asleep. Marce thinks that i have grown to love the dog more than him! But he has plenty of special time playing 'chase' with the dog. She LOVES people and other dogs...she likes to run onto the local cricket field and say hello to the players when they are in the middle of a game, and she also likes chasing other people's frisbees on the beach (but she doesnt like it when her daddy drops her into the sea, cos she swims straight out to the safety of her mama). She is fascinated by small children, who often run to hide behind their parents because they dont quite know what to make of her intense happiness to see them. She loves her doggie naighbours milo, lucky and tinkerbell - she especially loves lucky, whose norty bits she likes to sniff and lick and then (embarassingly for effie) rolls on her back and spreads her legs right in front of him to say "take me now!" - she is a horny 4 month old! She LOVES being outside and gallops along the grass chasing leaves that float in the air and sniffing buttercups and daisies - she just loves life! Well i hope that has given you a bit more of an insight into chocolate.
