Political move on Mahajan Report sought
DH News Service Mangalore:
A political decision on the implementation of Mahajan Report which urged the inclusion of Kasargod into Karnataka should be taken, said Litterateur Kayyara Kinhanna Rai.

Addressing a gathering at a dharna organised by the Akhila Bharatha Beary Parishath demanding inclusion of Kasargod into Karnataka here on Friday, he lamented that people’s representatives from Dakshina Kannada are not raising their voice on the issue.

“Local representatives should demand and work towards the implementation of Mahajan Report,” he added.

Kannada Development Authority Chairman B M Idinabba said “along with me, even the residents of Kasargod want it to be included to Karnataka. Government should work towards it,” he added.

There is a need to fight unitedly to demand the inclusion of Kasargod into Karnataka, said Kannada Sahithya Parishath former president Harikrishna Punaroor. “People should hold a protest from Mangalore to New Delhi in this regard,” opined district Kannada Sahithya Parishath President Pradeep Kumar Kalkura.

Historian Dr Vahab Doddamane, Parishath honorary president Mamthaz Ali, President J Hussain, Vice-President F A Khader among others were present on the occasion.
