The human race is simply not being valued as it should be, and in the
wake of Hurricane Katrina this fact was proven beyond the shadow of a
doubt. It was clearly made evident that the lives of the citizens of our great
city were not valued on any level of government be it local, state, or
federal. President Bush has given more time, effort, money and acted
more favorable in the saving of Iraq than in the saving of one of the
greatest cities to rest on American soil. It is time for the elimination of
New Orleans being labeled as the city that care forgot. We can only do
this by showing not only those citizens left in the city that we care, but to
show those left out that we care, by bringing them home. Our government
has mishandled our most precious resource, the human resource, and at
the core of my leadership we will show how the city of New Orleans can
show the citizens of New Orleans that they have value and self worth.
The people make the culture, the culture drives the city. Without the
people we have no culture, without the culture we have no city.
