Wins LFA Super Cup
LISCR FC Player fights for
control against Bass defenders

The soccer squad of the Liberia
International Shipping and Corporate Registry (LISCR) has lifted the
2004 Super Cup organized by the Liberia Football Association (LFA).
LISCR FC defeated Mighty Barrolle 1-0 at the
Antoinette Tubman Stadium (ATS) on Sunday, October 14, on Lynch Street
in Monrovia.
The victory for LISCR FC came as a result of an
own goal by impressive defender Solomon Grimes.
LISCR FC was qualified to compete for the Super
Cup winning the Knockout title this year. LISCR FC whipped division
one side Bassa Defender 2-0 in the grand final.
As for Mighty Barrolle, the Red Boys
captured the national league title in the premier league.
As champions of Liberia, Mighty Barrolle will compete in the 2005 CAF
Champions League, while the Knockout and Super Cup holder LISCR FC
will be the country's representative in the Confederations Cup.
At the same time, Tito United has become the female Super Cup
champions.
Tito United, headed by Geraldine Doe-Sheriff, sister of soccer veteran
Ezekiel Doe and wife of LFA Vice President Siaka A. Sheriff, won 2-1
over bitter rivals Earth Angels on Sunday at the ATS. |
