By Julu M. Johnson, Jr.

The soccer squad of the Liberia International Shipping and Corporate Registry (LISCR) has lifted the 2004 Super Cup organized by the Liberia Football Association (LFA).

LISCR FC defeated Mighty Barrolle 1-0 at the Antoinette Tubman Stadium (ATS) on Sunday, October 14, on Lynch Street in Monrovia.

The victory for LISCR FC came as a result of an own goal by impressive defender Solomon Grimes.

LISCR FC was qualified to compete for the Super Cup winning the Knockout title this year. LISCR FC whipped division one side Bassa Defender 2-0 in the grand final.

As for Mighty Barrolle, the Red Boys captured the national league title in the premier league.
As champions of Liberia, Mighty Barrolle will compete in the 2005 CAF Champions League, while the Knockout and Super Cup holder LISCR FC will be the country's representative in the Confederations Cup.

At the same time, Tito United has become the female Super Cup champions.

Tito United, headed by Geraldine Doe-Sheriff, sister of soccer veteran Ezekiel Doe and wife of LFA Vice President Siaka A. Sheriff, won 2-1 over bitter rivals Earth Angels on Sunday at the ATS.
