The Pasko Case
Grigory Pasko, an investigative journalist who worked for the Pacific Fleet's newspaper, was arrested on 20 November 1997 by the FSB and charged with high treason for his writing about the nuclear safety issues in the Russian Pacific Fleet.

Access to enviroinformation
Violation of the right to have access to environmental information is becoming a regular practice in Russia. Environmental activists are experiencing reprisals from the officials. Sergey Kharitonov, operator at Leningrad NPP and member of GreenWorld NGO, was fired after he had revealed safety violations at NPP's spent fuel storage.
