Violence in Timor-Leste has created a humanitarian emergency. An estimated 100,000 people have been internally displaced, many of them women, children and the elderly. Oxfam is providing humanitarian aid in six camps in Dili and supporting local partners in Liquica and Ermera.

Coldplay are huge supporters of our Make Trade Fair Campaign. We're calling for fairer trade rules, which could help lift millions from poverty. The band are now touring nationally. As part of the tour Oxfam Australia volunteers are getting involved to spread the fair trade message.



Oxfam is working to bring clean water, temporary shelter and supplies to 100,000 people made homeless by the Yogyakarta earthquake. Supplies and expertise are being drawn in from Oxfam's operations in Jakarta, Aceh, West Timor and South Asia to scale up our response.


China is the destination for the next Oxfam Challenge (20 October to 1 November 2006) and we're recruiting now.
