PAST SPECIAL PROGRAMMING

Black Music Month

June and every month is Black Music Month at CKLN. This year, on Sunday June 4 at the Trane Studio, we celebrated the 25th anniversary of CKLN's Diasporic Music, hosted by Norman "Otis" Richmond.

Building a Just World: Fair Trade, Ethical Trade and Canada

The first two weeks of May are National Fair Trade Weeks in Canada. To celebrate the efforts of fair trade and ethical trade producers, workers, and activists the world over, CKLN is proud to present a three-part documentary series produced by Asad Ismi and Kristin Schwartz. You can download mp3s of the programs at http://www.radio4all.net/proginfo.php?id=18056.

CKLN Needs Your Support All Year Round

CKLN 88.1 FM needs your support to keep our innovative and underground programming from Toronto's artistic, cultural and music communities on the airwaves. If you missed our on-air campaign, you can still make your pledge in support of your favourite show, or to the station as a whole.

Gift incentives are available for as little as $50. CKLN gear includes shirts and sweatshirts provided sweatshop and profit-free by Just Shirts. Charitable tax receipts are available from charitable trustee, Tractors for Our Daily Bread, for donations of $100 or more. We invite you to find out more about Tractors and the important they work do by clicking on their website.

fundFEST 2005 - aboveground/underground, our annual listener and supporter fundraising drive, wrapped up on Sunday October 30, 2005. We are proud to report that while we didn't reach our goal of $100,000, we received $92,000 in pledges by October 30, and pledges are still coming in -- currently we are just a few hundred dollars away from our target and counting! With your help, we may still make our goal.

And because we didn't quite reach our goal, it's even more important that everyone HONOUR YOUR PLEDGE by following through with payment.

You have many options to honour your pledge:

- Call the CKLN office at 416.979.5251 and pay by Visa or Mastercard.

- Visit us in person at 55 Gould Street, 2nd floor, one block north of Dundas, east of Yonge
during regular office hours (Monday through Friday, 10:30am to 6:30pm)

- Mail in a cheque to 55 Gould Street, Toronto Ontario, M5B 1E9.

- Or, you may pay securely via PayPal.

Congratulations to CKLN programmer Brian Wright-McLeod

CKLN opens our doors to the community

On Thursday October 13, CKLN opened the doors to our new offices and studios for tours and a special reception in the evening. We are proud to present the commemorative wall in the lobby of our new space, built of "bricks" bought for CKLN by our listeners and supporters over the past year. We are continuing with the Brick campaign into 2006, but space is limited. For more information about buying a brick, call Daniel at 416.979.5000 - hit one and then dial extension 2373.

And thanks to programmer Steve Balla for providing all the photos on this page, and for helping to document CKLN's history.

Please come by to visit our new location at the Student Campus Centre.
