G. Richard Dew Award for Journalistic Service

1969 York Riots coverage, Daily Record staff
The York Daily Record is the only newspaper in Pennsylvania to win this award, the top public service award in the state, four times. Past Dew Award wins by the Daily Record were: in 1991 for "Rotting Rows," in 1995 for "Kids Abusing Kids," and in 1998 for "The Rusk Report"and urban sprawl coverage.

The York Daily Record also has won or tied four of the Schnader Awards in the "Under 49,000" circulation category in the last decade. This award recognizes legal and court reporting in Pennsylvania. Previous winners are: in 1991, second place for "Kids in Crisis" by Lauralee Jones; in 1994, first place for "Shipwrecked in York" by Caryl Clarke and Daily Record staff; and in 2000, first place for "Completing the Sentence" by Caryl Clarke.
