Adaptive & Autonomous Systems

The Adaptive and Autonomous Systems Lab conducts state-of-the-art basic and applied research in machine learning, autonomy, and mobile robotics.

Our emphasis is on techniques that allow systems to:

  • change their level of autonomy on the fly based on the situation and the current interactions with users,
  • adapt to changes in their environment and to changes in their own capabilities,
  • learn new behaviors through interaction with the world,
  • interact more naturally with humans, and
  • reason similarly to humans in order to facilitate better collaborative interactions.
