Who are we?

We Are Number One! In Octobern 2003, we were thrilled to learn that NOW Magazine readers voted CKLN as runner-up for Toronto's Best Local Radio Station in the annual "Best of Toronto" poll. CKLN beat out many high-powered and high-budget rivals for the spot, topped only by the Edge. We're not surprised; in 2000, the Canadian Music Week Industry Awards recognized CKLN as Canada’s top campus station!

Broadcasting since 1983, we reach listeners from Barrie to Buffalo, Oshawa to Hamilton, and globally through Internet webcasting. Our diverse lineup features jazz, blues, hip-hop, reggae, punk/rock, house, jungle and much, much more! CKLN provides stimulating and provocative spoken-word programs profiling social and political issues that impact on all communities. Listed in Maclean’s magazine special 2001 edition as one of the hot items in the city, we cover the widest demographics while catering to niche markets. Respected as a standard-setting station, our core audience is comprised of urban 18-24 year-old students and professionals, a youth market of 14-24 year-olds is impacted through our dance and hip-hop shows rated as the best in the city. Our morning drive-time jazz shows and our diverse cultural and spoken word programs reach an active group of 24-55 year-olds.
