Beach ridges of former Glacial Lake Agassiz, northwestern Manitoba.

A series of concentric bouldery beaches formed below and around the knoll as glaciers receded and the level of the proglacial lake, Lake Agassiz, dropped. The well-developed beaches shown in this photograph suggests that lake levels dropped slowly in this area; therefore, there was time to form these shoreline features.
