INCOSE UK BOARD ELECTIONS Congratulations to Andrew Daw and Doug Cowper on their unanimous election to President and President Elect at the Annual General Meeting held during EuSEC 2006.  Details of our new Board can be found at http://www.incose.org.uk/people.htm.

THE RAILWAY INTEREST GROUP will be holding a meeting on the Wednesday, 11th October at 18:00 in London on the The Tunnel Cooling Project - Systems and Approach  .

THE INSTITUTION OF ENGINEERING AND TECHNOLOGY will be holding a Forum on Capability Engineering at Home and Abroad on the 7th November at the Savoy Place, London. This event is supported by INCOSE UK. Please see http://www.iee.org/events/capabilityforum.cfm for the latest details.

INCOSE UK ARCHITCTURE WORKING GROUP   There has been some interest recently in setting up an Architectures Working Group.  The UKAB are supporting the first meeting to be held on Friday 29 September, probably at the offices of Advantage Technical Consulting in Farnham.   To register an interest contact the Chair, Mike Wilkinson, at mike.wilkinson@advantage-business.co.uk or on 01252 738574.

INCOSE UK BRISTOL LOCAL GROUP PROGRAMME   The Bristol Local Group has been hard at work putting together an extensive and exciting Events Programme for the next 12 months.  See the Bristol Group page for further details.

INCOSE ENHANCES CAREER SERVICES   INCOSE has partnered with JobTarget to deliver a full-featured job site developed explicitly for the systems engineering community.  Individuals can post their resume free of charge and create personal alerts so that they are notified when opportunities are available. INCOSE UK UML PRACTITIONERS GROUP KICKS-OFF! The inaugural meeting of the UML Practitioners group was hosted by the Midlands Local Group at the SEIC, Loughborough, on Wednesday 9th August. The meeting was a great success, with 19 practitioners discussing the groupís terms of reference and future programme, as well as taking the opportunity to network.   Details will appear on our web-site soon, and the next meeting is scheduled for 22 November 2006.  Register your interest with Ken Astley (01509 635208 or k.r.astley@lboro.ac.uk).

OMG FORMALLY ADOPTS SYSML   INCOSE has played a key role in the development of the Systems Modelling Language requirements and specification. The Object Management Group announced the adoption of SysML on 6 July 2006 Ė further details are at http://www.incose.org/newsevents/news/details.aspx?id=92.

INCOSE UK WINS GOLD - AGAIN!   At the 2006 International Symposium, INCOSE recognised 24 chapters for meeting and exceeding standards for local service and contributions during 2005.  INCOSE UK received a Gold Award.  A full list of winning chapters is at http://www.incose.org/chapters/awards/currentwinners.aspx

INCOSE CONNECT DEPLOYED FOR ALL CURRENT MEMBERS.    INCOSE Connect is the new home to the INCOSE product area.  All members who have renewed for 2006/2007 should have received login information. This login will be your key to INCOSE Connect as well as many other online resources set for release over the next few months: a threaded discussion forum, IPAL (Product Asset Library), and IPUB (publications database).  The Members Only Area on the website has been retired. Renew your membership NOW to enjoy these benefits!

INCOSE RELEASES SE HANDBOOK V3.  The INCOSE Systems Engineering Handbook has been developed for the new systems engineer, the engineer in another discipline who needs to perform systems engineering, as well as the experienced systems engineer who needs a convenient reference.  Members who have renewed for 2006/2007 may download the latest version of handbook free of charge from INCOSE Connect.

DELIVERING ONLINE ACCESS TO INCOSE PROCEEDINGS     The proceedings of the many INCOSE symposia and conference hold a wealth of knowledge and comprise a key resource for the systems community. IPUB, INCOSE's online publications database, provides online access to this resource.
