International Pool Ponds Forge's aquatic resources are Sheffield's best. Our swimming amenities comprise of a 50m olympic sized competition pool, the deepest diving pool in Europe at an amazing 5.85m deep and a lively leisure pool.
The International Competition Pool is effectively utilised at multiple levels, accommodating regional, national and international competition. It has seating for 2,600 spectators; school training sessions and public lane swimming. Ponds Forge also offers child and adult swimming lessons and facilitates a number of water based activities and clubs ranging from canoeing to scuba diving. The City of Sheffield Swim Squad uses Ponds Forge as its training base. The adjustable water depth and pool dividing mechanism provides the versatility to sufficiently serve the varying needs and requirements of all users.
The International Diving Pool is the deepest in Europe. The area boasts 13 diving platforms and springboards and is used at competition level and by the Great Britain Diving Squad for training purposes. |
