The Information Economy Report focuses on trends in information and communications technologies (ICT), such as e-commerce and e-business, and on national and international policy and strategy options for improving the development impact of these technologies in developing countries


Highlights of this year´s Report
include:

  • A discussion of recent trends and developments relating to ICT, e-business and trade, and ongoing international developments in e-measurement
  • Analyses of ICT use by the tourist industry in developing countries, and of policies and strategies for developing e-tourism
  • A study of the impact of digital and Internet technologies on credit information systems
  • A chapter on international backbone connectivity and how this affects the economics of local Internet access
  • An analysis of legal and risk management issues and challenges relating to cybercrime and ICT security.
Launching
the IER 2005
The Information Economy Report 2005 was released on 10 November.

Topics covered range from e-measurement, e-tourism and e-credit information to Internet backbone economics, ICT security and cybercrime.
