The GSM Association has introduced in good faith, the Security
Accreditation Scheme, as a service which may be useful to its
members. While every effort is made by the Association, to
ensure that suppliers and manufacturers are graded in accordance
with specific standards and criteria, the Association will
not be liable for any loss incurred by any person as a result
of reliance on the grading system. The general principles of
the scheme are listed below.
- GSM
supplier participation is on a voluntary basis.
- Participation in the scheme will be for a minimum of
3 years
- Each
participating supplier should request a security audit
for at least one site within 6 months, otherwise
it’s
participation will be automatically cancelled.
- Each site declared by participating suppliers will be
audited every two years
- GSM supplier participation is confined to GSM smart card
suppliers
- A list of approved auditors will be supplied, upon request,
to participating vendors.
- GSM suppliers should ensure that their contractual terms
with the GSM Association approved auditors
embrace adequate confidentiality and non-disclosure agreement
terms.
- GSM suppliers accept, by their participation, that summary
details (only) of the results of audits
and any auditor/manufacturer comments concerning audits
will be available to GSM Association
Members.
- GSM suppliers who, following audit, are considered approved
will be issued with a GSM Association
approval certificate which is renewable every two years.
- All fees and expenses incurred in the course of SAS
auditing are payable by the GSM supplier
