Lambiel is the first Swiss man to become World Champion since Hans Gerschwiler (1947 World Champion). He
admires Todd Eldredge for his career, Alexei Yagudin for his personality and Evgeni Plushenko for his technique.
Lambiel and long-time coach Peter Grütter stopped working together for a few months in 2004 but teamed up
again before the 2005 European Championships.
