Here are the latest headlines:

Montpelier, VT - This year, skiers and riders can take advantage of Ski Vermont’s 3/5 Pass, a sampler pass designed to give people a chance to ski or snowboard a variety of Vermont resorts. The 3/5 Pass costs $125 for three tickets or $200 for five tickets and can only be purchased from Ski Vermont.

Big Sky, MT - Moonlight Basin in Big Sky opens its 2006/07 ski and snowboard season with additional skiable terrain in its Lone Peak Pass, new services and facilities, as well as new direct flights from Atlanta and Chicago, making the "Biggest Skiing in America" even bigger and easier to access.

Delray Beach, FL - iPod accessories maker iSoundCap Inc. has announced their latest audio cap for skiing, snowboarding and other cold weather activities. This new hat, made of 100% acrylic, not only will keep the head warm, but will also hold an iPod Nano in a water resistant protective pocket. The clear plastic covering the iPod wheel allows the user to change volume and song without removing the ski hat.

Bolzano, Italy - The Italian Trade Commission (ICE) and the Provincia di Bolzano, along with the Consortium Indexport, is organizing a trade mission to Bolzano to team Italian manufacturers of ski resort equipment (snowmaking machines, groomers and ski lifts), with Australian and New Zealand delegates from major ski areas.

Kananaskis Valley (AB), Canada - Alberta's Nakiska Resort is set to start its ski and snowboard season this Saturday. With the recent cold snowmaking temperatures and with help from Mother Nature, crews at Nakiska have been working hard to prepare the mountain for the season's first visitors.

Huntsville, UT - On Saturday, Utah's Snowbasin ski and snowboard resort will unveil its new Avalanche Rescue Training Center, provided by Wasatch Backcountry Rescue, and the “Are You Beeping” and “Stay On Top Of It” public awareness campaign.

Salt Lake City, UT - In an effort to demonstrate just how accessible Utah is for skiers coming from virtually anywhere in the United Sates, Ski Utah is flying out four journalists to ski two resorts in one day. They will arrive on morning flights on Dec. 7 and ski four hours at Alta Ski Area and Snowbird Ski and Summer Resort in Little Cottonwood Canyon. They will return on flights that will have them home by bedtime. Given that Salt Lake City International Airport is a Delta Air Lines hub, all four writers will be flying non-stop Delta flights.

Lincoln, NH - Loon Mountain kicks off its 40th ski season this Friday, and hosts its annual holiday benefit fundraiser, Ring in the Winter, on Saturday and Sunday.

Thompsonville, MI - With around-the-clock snowmaking and close to three feet of snow that has fallen on Benzie County since December 1, Crystal Mountain will open for the 2006/2007 skiing and snowboarding season on Friday.

Snowshoe, WV - West Virginia's Snowshoe ski and snowboard resort has scheduled its Demo Days Winter Celebration Weekend for this Saturday and Sunday. Stratton Mountain, VT - The return of cold air means that snowmakers are back to work at Vermont's Stratton Mountain ski and snowboard resort. Two hundred snowguns are in operation, working to expand the ski area's trail count by this coming weekend.

Newry, ME - With a mix of 240 traditional and low-energy snow guns firing together, Sunday River is in the midst of a 24-hour period during which the Maine ski and snowboard resort will average 7,000 gallons of pumped water per minute, totaling over 10 million gallons of water in 24 hours. Favorable weather is forecast to continue to allow further intensive snowmaking operations.

Salt Lake City, UT - As part of its commitment to keep eager skiers and boarders apprised of the snow conditions and terrain at Utah's four Cottonwood Canyon ski and snowboard resorts (Alta, Brighton, Snowbird and Solitude), Ski Salt Lake, part of the Salt Lake Convention and Visitors Bureau (CVB), has launched its first ever video blog on www.ski-saltlake.com.
