Welcome to Beechen Cliff!

Beechen Cliff is a school which has a long and illustrious tradition but which looks confidently to the future. It is a boys' school with a co-educational sixth form and welcomes children of all abilities who have a serious attitude towards their education.

Education at BCS is about high standards and aspirations, not only academically, but in all aspects of the life of the School. Thanks to the dedication and commitment of the staff, a number of whom are Old Boys, the atmosphere is scholarly and purposeful, yet it is also calm and happy, for we believe that education should be a thoroughly enjoyable experience.

We hear a good deal about change in education and rightly so. The world is undergoing rapid change - the influence of Information and Communication Technology being one example among many - and Beechen Cliff pupils will be equipped to thrive in the years ahead. We hear rather less, sadly, about those things which do not change - the need for hard work, self-discipline, good manners, concern for others and so forth. These are the values which underpin our work.

If you wish to see what the School has to offer there is a Prospective Parents' Evening in the autumn followed by an Open Day when you may see BCS at work. We encourage you also to come for an individual visit. To arrange this, or if you have any further query, please do not hesitate to contact me.
