IMPERIAL OIL

Imperial Oil has been a Premier Marketing Partner with Hockey Canada since 1981, encouraging young players to take challenges and shoot for their goals and dreams. Under Imperial Oil, Esso is the title sponsor of the Esso Women's National Hockey Championship, an event that brings together the top female teams from each Canadian province for an elite competition. With support from Imperial Oil, Hockey Canada has programs such as Esso Fun days and Esso Medals of Achievement, established in 1981 to build champions on ice and in life. To date nearly two million medals of achievement and over 30 million certificates of participation have been awarded to young boys and girls on behalf of Esso. In addition to their involvement with Hockey Canada teams and programs, Imperial Oil sponsors hockey from grassroots to the professional ranks as well as the Hockey Hall of Fame.

 

NIKE BAUER

Nike Bauer Hockey has been supporting Hockey Canada for more than 25 years and is currently one of four Premier Marketing Partners.  In 2006, Canada’s new national team sweater and sock was introduced using the new swift design and technology. This new uniform was worn during the 2006 IIHF World Junior Championship in Vancouver, by Canada's men's and women's Olympic hockey teams in 2006 in Turin, Italy, and by the National Sledge Hockey team at the 2006 Paralympic Games. In 2006, Nike Bauer also unveiled the One Jersey program to support youth hockey across Canada. A portion of the Nike Hockey Canada jersey sales went to the Canadian Hockey Foundation. In addition, the One Jersey website (www.OneJersey.ca) allowed visitors to join the fabric of Hockey Canada by adding their name to a list of fans who have pledged their support to Canadian Hockey.

 

RBC FINANCIAL GROUP

RBC Financial Group has been a Premier Marketing Partner of Hockey Canada since 1995 and is the title sponsor of Canada's National Junior A Championship, the RBC Royal Bank Cup. Through their involvement with Hockey Canada, RBC sponsors the Junior A Scholarship Award recognizing academic excellence and community involvement in Junior A hockey and the RBC Canadian Junior A Hockey League Player of the Year Award which is given to the participant who best exemplifies hockey skills, academic achievement and community involvement. In addition, RBC Insurance supports the RBC Local Hockey Leaders program, recognizing individuals who dedicate their time to hockey at the community level. To date, the program has donated more than $300,000 to grassroots hockey initiatives across Canada.

TELUS

TELUS is one of Hockey Canada’s four Premiere Marketing Partners as well as the official telecommunications provider. In 2004, TELUS became the title sponsor for the National Midget Championship, the TELUS Cup. TELUS is a strong supporter of grass roots hockey and wants to help athletes reach their goals. Sidney Crosby, member of the Canadian National Men’s Team is featured on TELUS’s advertisements as well as their phone cards. During Hockey Canada Week 2005, proceeds from the Sidney Crosby phone card benefited the Canadian Hockey Foundation.

 

TSN/RDS
Official Broadcaster

The Sports Network (TSN), Le Réseau des Sports (RDS) is the official broadcaster of Hockey Canada. The 16 year long relationship between Hockey Canada and TSN/RDS has been extended with an exciting broadcast agreement running into 2012. TSN/RDS broadcasts Hockey Canada International and National events including: Men’s World Championships, Women’s World Championships, World Junior Championship, TELUS Cup, RBC Royal Bank Cup, Esso Women’s National Championship and The Under 17 World Championship.  Established in 1984 as the first national sports TV network, TSN has become the most watched specialty channel in Canadian television history. TSN/RDS currently has 8 million subscribers and is available in 81 per cent of all English language cable/satellite households.
