OB go for goalkeeper Novaković
Friday, 8 December 2006Serbian goalkeeper Nenad Novaković has agreed a three-and-a-half year contract with Danish side Odense BK.
'Huge talent'
The 24-year-old will move to OB in the new year and joins from Køge BK, who are currently second in the Danish first division. "Nenad Novaković is a huge talent and we have worked very hard to get him to OB," said sporting director Kim Brink. "He will strengthen us in a position where we are extremely strong already and where we have now secured our long-term future."
'Great interest'
For his part, Novaković – who will compete with Polish goalkeeper Arek Onyszko to be first choice at OB – said the faith of his new coach had proved crucial. "Many clubs showed an interest, but since Bruce Rioch and Kim Brink showed great interest, and because OB are a club with great tradition and success, I chose them," he explained. Odense are third in the Danish Superliga and fourth in UEFA Cup Group D.
