Born on April 2, in Saitama. After graduated Tama Art University, won Shiki-taisyo with OHAYASHI-GA-KIKOERU-HI (A Day Festival Music Is Heard) and made his debut in 1993. Currently, MAJO (Witch) is carried in Monthly IKKI (Shogakukan) series, also appears in Monthly Afternoon (Kodansha) with Little Forest series. Other books already issued are SORATOBI-TAMASHII (Flying Spirit, Kodansha), and HANASHIPPANASHI (Talking Away, Kawade Shobo Shinsha).
I am working supported and helped by many people who would be more pleased with this award than me. Thank them very much and I am looking forward to working with them in future, too.
Deep resentment and curse of a girl who was trampled down her sheer devotion by a man at a bazaar in a capital some time ago change the girl into a "witch" with strong mighty, and she comes back quietly to the bazaar where the man lives thirtieth year after. Old street, people live there, from infants to old women or animals, each of them has a presence and each frame is excellent as a picture. Other sort story series create fantastic world of IGARASHI with skillful and delicate style.
