What type of youth does West Ridge Academy serve?

We help boys and girls with a variety of challenges. Most youth who attend West Ridge are being unsuccessful in their lives and not making proper decisions. They are often struggling in school, having difficulty in their family relationships, and are being negatively influenced by peer associations.

From a clinical perspective, most young men and young women have one or more of the following issues:

* ADHD
* ADD
* Oppositional Defiant Disorder (ODD)
* Anger Management
* Reactive Attachment Disorder
* Substance Abuse
* Lack of Motivation
* General Inappropriate Behavior
* Bi-polar, depression and anxiety
* Obsessive Compulsive Disorder (OCD)
* Learning Disorders (LD)

Are the youth at West Ridge Academy locked up?

No. As an early-intervention residential program, an integral part of treatment is the choice a young person makes to remain on campus, in the absence of walls and locks to detain him.

What is the cost, and is financial aid available?

Please contact our Admissions Team for current pricing and availability at 800-260-2697 or 801-282-1000

Does West Ridge Academy accept insurance?

Payment for the first month of treatment must be made in full at admittance. Parents also must accept personal financial responsibility for maintaining a current account status with West Ridge Academy. In most cases, this requires parents to pay for each month’s treatment up front while awaiting insurance decisions or payment.

Unfortunately, in most cases, insurance companies do not cover behavioral- or emotional-health concerns and/or residential placement.

What is the age range of youth in treatment?

West Ridge Academy is licensed to treat young men and women ages 9 through 18. The average age of students in residential care is 14 years old.

Where do students attend school while enrolled at West Ridge Academy?

They attend school at our accredited, fully-staffed, K-12 academy located on our 77-acre campus. We employ certified teachers, offer a wide-range of curriculum, and maintain small classes (15 or fewer boys per classroom). School is offered year round, allowing many students the opportunity of earning additional credits and achieving their age appropriate grade level.

Do you only accept young men from Christian homes?

No. West Ridge Academy is a nondenominational Christian organization and promotes Christian values and beliefs. Religion, nationality or color is never a factor in considering placement.

Who pays for medical and dental care?

Parents and their insurance company, if any, are primarily responsible for payment of a young person's medical and dental expenses while he is enrolled at West Ridge Academy.

Is West Ridge Academy a not-for-profit organization?

Yes. We are a non-profit 501(c)(3) registered charity.
