February 22, 2007

[ This Fall: The Force Unleashed: Art of the Game ] This October, Insight Editions -- publishers of the breathtaking Dressing a Galaxy and Sculpting a Galaxy books -- will produce an illustration-loaded trade paperback celebrating the art of the next great Star Wars adventure: The Force Unleashed.

This visually rich book will appeal to serious gamers as well as all who love Star Wars. The Force Unleashed: Art of the Game is the story behind the newest chapter in the Star Wars galaxy. Co-authored by project lead W. Haden Blackman and assistant producer Brett Rector (you can read this week's production diary from Rector here), the book chronicles the three-year development of the action-packed video game, from concept to completion.

This unique volume is rife with lush imagery, including concept artwork, three-dimensional renders and behind-the-scenes photos. This new game, overseen by George Lucas, will feature technological innovations in digital physics, visual effects and artificial intelligence, while readers will learn the innermost secrets of game design. Fans of the Star Wars saga will be taken on a tour into previously uncharted territory and introduced to worlds, characters and vehicles new to the galaxy far, far away.

The Force Unleashed: Art of the Game trade paperback is 224 pages, and scheduled for an October release. For more information about the game, visit its official website here.
