UCLA SPORTS HISTORY
UCLA continues its tradition on into the 21st century as having the most impressive sports history of any college in the nation since 1950. Come see the original Heisman Trophy won by Gary Beban, the Wooden Awards won by Marques Johnson and Ed O'Bannon and the Honda Cups won by our stellar female athletes Lisa Fernandez, Jackie Joyner-Kersee, and Ann Meyers.

See other famous national championship trophies and awards across numerous Olympic Sports that only a handful of colleges in the nation have ever won.

See video highlights, view pictures and read special information about every UCLA Athlete who lettered in a sport from 1919 to the present, including the many "legends" that utilized their UCLA experiences to become professional athletes or Olympians while excelling in the nation's #1 athletic program.

THE SPORTS CHAMPIONS OF UCLA
Starting with its first NCAA title in 1950, UCLA has steadily moved into the forefront of college championship awards. We're proud of our 1954 Football National Championship award, for so few schools have ever won that title. UCLA's football team has been at the tops in the Pac-10 Conference in Rose Bowl game appearances over the past 25 years. UCLA is second in all-time women's NCAA titles. And no college can match UCLA's 11 NCAA men's basketball titles.

UCLA is the leader in producing professional athletes, coaches and Olympians over the past 25 years. No school can match UCLA's record of Olympians and Olympic medals won by its present and former athletes since 1976. The same is true for professional accomplishments.

It is this level of accomplishment that ranks UCLA # 1 nationally in overall NCAA Championship titles and selected as the Pac-10 #1 Program of the 20th Century-and the awards keep coming.
