Suffered plunging fortunes in January when Adecco, the Swiss employment agency of which he owns 18%, announced it was investigating possible accounting errors. Adecco stock tumbled 35% that weekend. Matters got uglier when Klaus Jacobs, another billionaire owner of Adecco, publicly dissed Chief Jerome Caille, Foriel-Destezet's godson. Foriel-Destezet, who lives in London, kept mum. Partial vindication came in February when Adecco declared the accounting errors would be insignificant, lifting the stock halfway where it was before the accounting imbroglio.
