Zwick to Make Film About Daniel Pearl
Posted by RT-News on Tuesday, Feb. 22, 2005, 02:55 PM

RT-News writes: "Ed Zwick will direct an adaptation of the book "Who Killed Daniel Pearl?" by French author-philosopher Bernard-Henry Levy, Variety reports. The film is the second project based on Pearl's life; Warner Bros. and Plan B were adapting Pearl's wife's book, with Jennifer Aniston to star. Zwick's film will be about the perils facing journalists in war zones; Pearl was a reporter for the Wall Street Journal when he was abducted and killed in Pakistan."

So long as they don't glorify war and suggest it's a nice thing, I'll be happy to go see it.

I hope they do right by Daniel Pearl and not turn this into some right or left wing political b**ching session. He deserves better than being someone's agenda.

Yes, you're right there. We should never forget that Pearl was a real person who met a terrible end. Turning his life into some cheesy special-effects extravaganza or, worse, into a political opportunity, would be unspeakable.
