March 15, 2007 - More News Regarding Era Vulgaris

Some of the world's luckiest people got to hear Era Vulgaris today at a "listening party" held at SXSW in Austin, Texas. All the reviews I have heard about it confrim that the album will be every bit as good as QOTSA fans are expecting. Some quotes from a Billboard.com Article on the Album:

" Queens Of The Stone Age runs the gamut of rock'n'roll on its upcoming album, "Era Vulgaris," due in mid-June via Interscope. Nine tracks previewed by Billboard.com today find the Josh Homme-led group peddling fast, powerful riffs ("Sick, Sick, Sick," "Battery Acid," "3's + 7's") as well as more psychedelic, boogie-ish rhythms ("Suture Up Your Future," "I'm Designer").

Although Nine Inch Nails' Trent Reznor and the Strokes' Julian Casablancas have been tipped as guests on "Era Vulgaris," the only audible guest on the aforementioned tracks was on-again/off-again contributor Mark Lanegan on "River in the Road." The group has also re-recorded the song "Make It Witchu," which Lanegan previously sang on volume nine and 10 of Homme's long-running Desert Sessions releases."
