The School

Here are some facts about our school:

• There are nearly 1500 students in the school and there are around 250 in this year's Sixth Form.
• There are over 250 computers in the school, making us one of the best equipped for ICT in the region.
• Granada Learning are currently involved in an extensive trial of new media and technology in the school that includes CD ROMs, Interactive Whiteboards and home to school access to e-Learning through the Internet.
• We have a large swimming pool and extensive sports facilities.
• Our School Stage Band has visited Italy, Barcelona and Belgium in recent years.
• We have a Youth Club and many of our older members of our local community use the school's facilities.

"DON VALLEY HIGH SCHOOL PROVIDES GOOD VALUE FOR MONEY."

The words above are those of the Ofsted inspection team. Many areas came in for praise after a very extensive inspection by a team of more than 16 inspectors. Because of new inspection regulations, the Sixth Form came under very close scrutiny and emerged with flying colours.

A clear message from the inspection was that pupils enjoy being at Don Valley. High quality teaching is central to our success and this was highlighted in the report, paying tribute to our excellent staff. The leadership and management of the school were described as good. There is no doubt that the school will continue to build on this success to be even more successful in the future.

European Social Fund

It is thanks to European funding that many of t he new developments to hit Don Valley are taking place. The ESF is a source of money that is applied for from Europe to enable us to provide the best for our pupils and students. All of us in Doncaster will be benefitting in some way from this extra-help from Europe!
