FOSSWIN is a collection of over 100 Free and Open Source
Software for academic, government, and business organizations using the Windows
98SE/Me/2000/2003/XP operating systems. The software has been carefully assembled to provide
free alternatives to expensive commercial suites such as MS Office, MS Outlook, Photoshop, Matlab, etc.
The collection is available as an ISO image, a ZIP archive, or as a portable package.
The portable version is self-contained - it can be extracted on a removable storage media such as
a USB thumb drive and applications will run directly from it without installation. Simply extract the
"fosswin_portable.zip" file on a 512MB USB stick and double-click on the file "PStart.exe". This will
launch the applications menu and park it in the system tray of the computer. All three distributions
contain this README file with a more detailed description of FOSSWIN and its
usage.

arudius
Arudius is an information assurance (IA) Linux live CD with tools
for penetration testing and vulnerability analysis. Information assurance
has many other aspects besides network security. However, it seems that
the mainstream public identifies information assurance primarily with
securing network-enabled systems, so we decided to go with the mainstream and call
Arudius a tool for information assurance.
The CD consists of a Zenwalk Linux base on top of which
a large collection of network security testing software
(full
list) has been
installed - including tools listed on Insecure.org Top 75 list plus many
other tools listed on Freshmeat, Sf.net and other information assurance
sites around the world.

polyBSD and pocketSAN
polyBSD is a "multi"-purpose (hence "poly") framework for building
embedded systems that address certain aspects of information assurance.
Essentially, it is a minimalistic install of NetBSD (i386) designed
to run from a 256MB flash card or USB memory stick. Read the "polyBSD" section of
this file for more information.pocketSAN uses polyBSD as
a basis and builds on top of that to provide a functional, secure and completely
free NAS/SAN solution with RAID and encrypted virtual disk support that can fit
in your shirt pocket. Thus it can be used to address the data at-rest aspect of
information assurance. Read the "pocketSAN" section of this
file with instruction on how to set up your NAS/SAN. Here is also a list
of all packages installed on pocketSAN.

NAMP, DAMP and OAMP are the NetBSD, DragonFly BSD and OpenBSD cousins of the popular LAMP
deployment (Linux+Apache+MySQL+PHP) but also provide an installation of the powerful
open-source database engine PostgreSQL, SQLite, Perl, Ruby and Python. The apliances also
provide the popular tools phpMyAdmin and phpPgAdmin for easy administration of MySQL and
PostgreSQL over the web. Recent development by the NetBSD and DragonFly BSD teams have
resulted in significant performance gains for these operating systems and the popular opinion is that
they rival the Linux 2.6.x kernel in performance, while providing excellent stability
and security out of the box. The suitability of OpenBSD for the purposes of information assurance
does not need any advertising. The *BSD AMPs are available as VMware appliances. For
