About

Northern Voice is a community-based blogging and personal publishing conference that started in February, 2005. This year’s conference will take place on Friday, February 10 and Saturday, February 11, 2006 at UBC’s downtown campus.

We hope to bring together up to bloggers and blogging neophytes to:

  •   Learn more about social, cultural and technological aspects of blogging
  •   Exchange ideas about improving our weblogs
  •   Meet each other in meatspace
  •   Network, make new friends and influence people
  •   Have an excuse for a party

The success of last year’s one-day event encouraged us to take a leap and organize Northern Voice 2.0 over two days. Saturday will follow a similar format to the first Northern Voice. Take a look at last year’s schedule if you’re curious about the type of sessions and speakers.

Here's the organizing committee enjoying a late lunch after a tough day of speaker selection.

Friday will be a little more unorthodox for regular conference goers. In the spirit of Foo Camp and Bar Camp, Northern Voice is pleased to be including a whole self-organized day dedicated to Moose Camp.

Last year’s event was a lot of fun, but don’t just take our word for it. Listen to the chatter and check out some photos from Northern Voice 2005.

Northern Voice is organized by seven Vancouver bloggers with a passion for technology.
