revision3

InDigital

Revision3 is the first media company that gets it, born from the Internet, on-demand generation. Unlike aggregators, mash-ups, clients and web sites, Revision3 is an actual TV network for the web, creating, producing its own original entertainment and content.

The content is designed for a new audience. This audience, like television, expects dependability and quality, but unlike television, wants a more gritty, edgy, highly-targeted and in-depth form of entertainment. With the proliferation of mobile video, iPods, Tivo and other Internet-connected set-top-boxes, video that is both on-demand and tailored to suit will be Revision3's specialty. Revision3 delivers technology, comedy, music, cooking, and more, all with the familiar faces you all know with years of experience.

Finally, Revision3's philosophy on content is neutral to how it is distributed. We will work with almost any distribution platform; iTunes, Odeo, Bittorrent, Palm, you name it...and using every video encoding format available, including flash, making our content accessible to the greatest possible audience.

Who Are We?

Founded by Jay Adelson (Chairman, CEO of Digg, founder of Equinix), Kevin Rose (Founder and Chief Architect of Digg, TechTV, G4), David Prager (TechTV, G4), Dan Huard, and Ron Gorodetzky, Revision3 has been practicing out of a garage until fall, 2006. Even so, with over 1.5 million downloads a month, Revision3 has mastered the art of creating content, encoding and distribution. Now with funding from investors like Marc Andreessen and Greylock Partners, Revision3 has launched and is ready for prime time, or any time you like!

The Team

Jay Adelson Chairman, CEO

Jay Adelson was suckered out of the world of film and broadcasting into helping kick-start the Internet industry in 1993. Since then, he helped engineer Netcom, the first ISP in the United States, worked at DEC research lab in Palo Alto to build the secret back-end of the Internet (PAIX), and founded the billion-dollar Equinix [EQIX] which, if shut off, would screw up the Internet. Jay has testified before Congress and advised the government and other groups with his knowledge of the Internet's workings, and habitually speaks at industry events and conferences. His passions are dis-intermediation and toppling ancient and corrupt monopolies. As Chief Executive, Jay is responsible for leading Revision3 to becoming the leading Internet media network. His primary tools to achieve this are an amazingly great staff, a cell phone and video chat. Jay spends a great deal of time trying to sucker Kevin Rose out of the world of film and broadcasting into helping kick-start the Internet industry.

David Prager COO, VP of Programming

David has worked as a broadcast television producer, technology writer, and journalist since 1999 for ZDTV, TechTV and G4 Media. He is a seasoned veteran of television production with several hundred hours of daily live production and many dozens of documentary and field productions under his belt in the roles of producer, writer, director, and talent. He has been heavily involved in computers and technology since becoming SysOp of his own computer BBS in 1989 and subsequently as a network administrator for the software company, Bowne Litigation Solutions. After joining Revision3, David quickly took over the day to day operations, managing business opportunities, developing new programming, and successfully building and executing a working business model for the emerging medium of Internet VOD programs. David holds degrees in Communication and Media Studies from Trinity University in San Antonio, Texas

Kevin Rose Producer, Diggnation, Systm, thebroken

Kevin Rose, the Founder and Chief Architect of Digg, is an obsessive tea drinker, spends his time in between podcasting, climbing, digging, and inventing Digg's next gen features. Unfortunately, Kevin's extended exposure to Digg results in him repeating the words 'dupe, dupe, no digg' over and over while sleeping. Prior to founding Revision3, Kevin produced and hosted hundreds of segments on TechTV - a cable television network available in over 45 million homes in the United States and distributing content to more than 70 countries. Most recently, he produced and hosted similar content for the G4TV network. His unique articles and content have been featured on numerous tech websites and publications including CNN, E!, MaximumPC, Fark and close to a dozen homepage mentions on Slashdot. Kevin loves green tea.

Dan Huard Producer, Systm, thebroken

Dan's full time job is at Digg, though he dabbles here at Revision3. He has developed and produced technology television content for the past three years for TechTV and G4TV. He also co-hosts two shows - thebroken and Systm with Kevin Rose. Dan graduated from Cal State Fullerton with a degree in Communications. Soon after graduating he moved up to San Francisco to work at TechTV as an intern for The Screen Savers. Subsequently, he was hired on as a Production Assistant and on-air contributor. Once TechTV was acquired by Comcast, he moved down to Los Angeles as The Screen Saver's Associate Producer. Dan currently lives in San Francisco and continues to produce tech content for Systm, thebroken, and other future endeavors. Double-D is in the house.
