Alpha Phi Alpha was founded December 4, 1906 in Ithaca, New York. Seven distinguished individuals known as the Jewels founded Alpha on the campus of Cornell University. Alpha is focused on philanthropy, which is seen in our national programs. Alpha strives to be the first of all servants of all.
