Contemporary
The Contemporary Space is the hub of the
Victoria and Albert Museum's contemporary
programme. Offering a wide range of exhibitions,
events and displays, it brings the best of today's
visual culture from around the
world to the Museum. Spanning all aspects of
art and design - including fashion, furniture and
product design, craft, graphic design, digital
media, architecture and photography - the
Contemporary programme considers the
interrelationships between these art forms.
Highlight
Friday Late
On the last Friday of every month, the V&A hosts a contemporary late night event in the museum. Centred around a theme or exhibition, the evenings feature live performances, guest DJ's and often hands-on activities as well as a late bar.
Highlight
Simon Periton Installation
In his new work for the V&A, The Anti Room of the Mae Queen, Periton creates an intricate chamber, a space in which an icon of Golden Age cinema merges with the pagan figure head whose festival marks the end of the old and the moment to usher in the new.
