 Time For A Dark Ritual?
Posted by Darren 'Doom Dude' Finch at 9:29 AM
Category: Quake IV

I was looking through the Quake 4 maps on Map Factory and I found one by phantazm11 that is called Dark Ritual, which I haven't noticed before. The level is designed for deathmatch.
Final release of Dark Ritual. This is primarily a duel map, but has support for small TDM matches also. The map contains all new custom textures which will be released separately soon.
Time to have a Dark Ritual.

 Vergil's Yamato
Posted by Darren 'Doom Dude' Finch at 10:26 PM
Category: Star Wars Jedi Knight: Jedi Academy

I have hayfever after going outside..... yeah outside. Damned stupid thing to do. Also here is Vergil's Yamato which is a sword for Jedi Academy.
Marshal Banana brings us a new sword to add to your collection. This one is supposed to be a replica of Vergil's weapon, from Devil May Cry 3. I tried looking up some reference pictures, however failed miserably, therefore can't vouch for how close this is to the DMC version.
You can get that on Jedi Knight Files. Just don't go outside, you'll get hayfever or sunburn or fly bites or some other Summer crap.

 Starburst Sabers (v2)
Posted by Darren 'Doom Dude' Finch at 9:53 PM
Category: Star Wars Jedi Knight: Jedi Academy

If you need some new sabers then maybe you should check out these Starburst Sabers (v2) by Redeem.
The effect created here gives them a kind of exploded look, or a prickly look... Heck, they look like a starburst. It's not only the best adjective, but it's really the only suitable one.
For some reason there's no screenshots.... those sabers are on Jedi Knight Files.

 Devil's Waitin' For Some Killin'
Posted by Darren 'Doom Dude' Finch at 8:57 PM
Category: Quake IV

If you put a hit on Map Factory you can find a Quake 4, singleplayer level by the name Devil's Waitin'.
The war spreads itself over the entire Universe. You and your team are deployed on a Pogon - cold planet half way between Stroggos and Earth. Your task is to find a way into the enemy's base and locate and kill one of the Stroggos Generals.
So yeah, go kill some Strogg where the Devil's Waitin'....

 Lara Croft Skin
Posted by Darren 'Doom Dude' Finch at 7:44 PM
Category: Star Wars Jedi Knight: Jedi Academy

Due to Lightsource there's now a Lara Croft skin for Jedi Academy.
Now then, Lightsource, an author who is quickly making a shine in the community, has made a rather interesting likeness of Lara Croft using the Jan model. Naturally, I checked around, and I'm guessing this is based off of a later game variant.
Here is Lara Croft on Jedi Knight Files.

 Blue Up Your Quake 4
Posted by Darren 'Doom Dude' Finch at 9:32 PM
Category: Quake IV

LDAQ4 is a texture mod that changes most of the things in the game to blue.
This is a mere texture mod that changes much of Quake IV's green marine theme (characters, weapons, items) to blue. It's an extension of my earlier "Dark-Bloody Strogg Kane" texture mod and as such includes all of that earlier "mod" content. This is basically my own personal "theme mod" being a blue fanatic, I've been obsessive recolourising a fairly large portion of the Quake IV content, Strogg-Kane being the main reason for this whole package. Quake IV really is a pretty cool game and I hope some can enjoy it more with this theme mod. I would have liked to have made a bunch of SP maps with this too, but I don't like to think of how long that would take with everything else going on.
LDAQ4 is available over on Quake 4 Files.

 After The War 2.1
Posted by Darren 'Doom Dude' Finch at 8:16 PM
Category: Quake IV

If you put a hit on Map Factory you can find a Quake 4, deathmatch level by the name After the War 2.1.
This map is sort of an homage to Hexen and Quake 1 with its medieval design and autumn motif but it is set during the Strogg invasion of Earth around 2065.
After the War 2.1 is waiting to be checked out....

 Mercury Camp
Posted by Darren 'Doom Dude' Finch at 5:20 PM
Category: Voyager: Elite Force

Gigon released an older deathmatch level of his that has a Captain Proton theme which is called Mercury Camp.
Mercury Camp is a Deathmatch map which is based on a Captain Proton feel, I found that the most interesting feature of this map was the rocket ship that bared some similarity to the one seen in the Captain Proton holodeck simulations run in Star Trek Voyager. While the map itself is completely back & white the weapons and item placements were not, this I felt damaged the overall atmosphere of the map.
Have a look at the Mercury Camp.

 Deathmatch In Evalia
Posted by Darren 'Doom Dude' Finch at 8:14 PM
Category: Quake IV

I was on Map Factory and noticed this Evalia map that slipped under the radar. It's a small deathmatch level made for Quake 4 and is designed for for 1on1 fights by Dade. Might be worth a downgrab, so go check that out on Map Factory.
